The sandwich plate (round circular piece) goes between your factory oil filter and the engine block. The oil then is routed through it and down the line to the oil cooler. The oil returns down the other line and back into the sandwich plate back into the engine. Pretty simple design and very effective. I've had mine installed ever since I've had my turbo and my oil temps have not been high at all.

add the oil filter adapter to the block where the oil filter is and then put the oil filter on top of the block,
and the adapter block there are 2 outlets ...one is out and one is in,

I'll ask again, can you fund both the cooler sandwhich and temp/press sand whichs togeather? If no, how can you run guages without tappng the oil pan?

The oil cooler sandwich on this universal kit has 4 ports on it. The 2 larger ports are used for the oil feed and return, and the other 2 are used for oil temp and oil pressure sensors.

No tapping needed, just the gauges with sensors and this oil cooler kit or another similar one. I am currently using the universal kit from AJ-Racing and I have an oil temp sensor/gauge hooked up to it, and will be adding an oil pressure. If you don't use both ports the other is plugged with a bolt.
