OBX LSD......dont even think about it

found this last night when i was browsing ebay.

the price is $375 shipped or something crazy like that. Its made almost like the Quaife lsd and weigh's about the same. Its made in Japan and OBX stamps there name on it.

for any of you out there DO NOT BUY IT. This thing is a POS like most of the products they have and will only cause you headache's in the long run. It claims they have lifetime warranty which should make you think right there.

1. it will mess up your tranny/bell housing/axle
2. they will not cover any damage caused by the LSD.They will just replace the LSD.

just thought i would let you guys know before you think about picking one up

Let's start out with hands-on evidence from another honda application

one thread
another thread

for interest...

I was really hoping the runout situation would get resolved because I was waiting to get one for the EJ the next time the tranny was out.

The ones that were found to be straight held a heck of a lot of power.

you shouldnt even have to do that in the first place. for a little more you could get the Mfactory.

megan isnt an ebay company.

some people do have and some dont. its like taking a 50/50 chance. there is a huge honda-tech thread about it and out of 16pages only 1 person had no issues out of the 5 people that bought it?

so do you have it in your car right now, right???(im guessing not)
how could you bash on a product without ever using it or at the very least seen it person?? it boggles my mind...
what makes it a POS?
what will break on it?
what is its weak point?
just because you read some threads, it makes you an OBX product expert?

seriously. how can you bash a product that you have never used/tested. just because a company makes a questionable product for another vehicle, doesnt make it bad for all their products

isnt that the point of reading threads about people using certain products so they test them out and you can see what the results are? its called doing your homework.

obviously i did mine. i researched the product and found bad feedback which is what im sharing with you guys. honestly if you want to test it out go ahead but a company that wont back up there product.....doesnt that make you wonder?

im not saying im any expert but when was the last time you heard anything good about OBX?

how is a company going to copy the design of a quaife LSD and assemble it wrong. like i said im not expert but research it and there are very few people that have good results.

Side by side the OBX is a direct knock off of Quaife.
Except the OBX had inferior materials (lower grade metals)
-Flashing/seems on their cast pieces (flashing is the extra metal that remains from the mold)
-One of the gear pieces was put in backwards - which would have caused instant failure.
-The allen head bolts were not torqued down properly
-Casing was not cut properly.

Do it right the first time. this isnt some header or cheap intake that can replaced easily, this is a vital part of your car and not the cheapest to fix either. Like said very few good results
