Red face GD1 1.3 iDSI CVT + NOS

Hi guys!

I've install a ZEX Nitrous Kit on my 1.3 iDSI (CVT) GD1.

My setup is a 55hp jet and I'm managed to run 0-100km in 8.57sec. I'm happy with the result but during the accelerate process i did not really felt that type of "stick to your seat feeling". (G-Force) I do understand that there is still a limit to what I can squeeze out from a 1.3 iDSI engine.

I've a 65hp and 75hp jet with me. I will like to check if anyone here used before or using 75hp jet on their FIT?

Maybe it's just me but i would not throw that much nitrous into a CVT Equipped Fit!! The abscence of a ''Kick'' is probably the CVT belt that is slipping... Altough i hope not for you!

Marko!!

I've heard the CVTs are prone to issues, it seems like putting any kind of more power into it is putting it at risk. Particularly that much.

CVTs are piece of shit!! i had one i chucked it out and swapped MT. they are slow as hell and very expensive to repair compared to the conventional automatics

I had 55HP in my car 1.3L cvt, but didn't work good because the car has 8 plugs, did you have any issue about that.

With he CVT I wouldn't expect that there would be a rush of power due to the engine staying at the top of the torque band during acceleration.... It should make noticeable difference in power after you are wound out enough that the revs climb beyond that range... A 55hp shot sounds like it would make a big difference but I have heard others say they expected more Gs than they were experiencing with it.

75shot? Dang, I'm scared to run a 35shot as it is, lol. I have a zex kit with jets rated at 35, 45, and 55. Not currently running it, have a couple of times, but still need to get a couple more things to complete my kit.

So baylorbro how did the 35 shot feel vs. no shot? Set ya back in the seat? Cuz that's close to 1/3 more pony power.

Yes; if the factory (ZEX) stops @ 55 shot I would think a 75 shot may not be advisable. You can figure ZEX probably blew up a few engines just to see how far they could go.

Hey Perrenoud, I definitely could tell a difference but everything other than the intake was stock. I took out the management unit and bottle for now, but left the wiring and lines on so I don't have to redo everything. Now I have the T1R 50S muffler and different intake (PRM). I think the muffler definitely released more power potential of the intake that was bottled up because of flow restriction. I am thinking this will also help maximize the power gains from nitrous. Future plans before hooking the nitrous back up include the T1R bpipe, WeaponR down pipe and cat delete (or whatever they're calling it...) and upgraded fuel injectors along with several other nitrous necessary mods that I won't bore you with by listing out.

Also, I think the "35hp" shot is really a subjective measurement and is not really a measurement at the wheel. I think that would be the equivalent of ~20-25 hp to the wheels.

Old thread back from dead.

Glad to read that this has worked out for someone with a CVT transmission.
