Who's running a throttle controller on a boosted fit?

And more specifically, on a Kraftwerks supercharged fit? I'm interested to know your impressions on how it improves the responsiveness of the car (more specifically low end RPM). Also if you do have one can you drive with it on, turn it off and drive around again under normal stoplight driving to get a fresh perspective on how much it is actually improving? List what type you've got as well and what setting you run it on.

On a side note, I can't see why they can't just make one that will interpret the signal and run as though it's linear, you can do that with an AEM ems...

I have one on what was 5PSI and now upgraded with the High Boost upgrade.... I find myself using the eco5 ultra slow opening mode more than ever before but the sp7 ultra quick mode is a real hoot on a back road with hills, trees and winding curves. Panson is the guy to get one from.

i have one, I use eco7 on the freeway. Normal on city driving, and SP7 on the track. You can feel the difference on initial take off from a stop... but if your on the track you cant really tell much since you are in the higher end of the powerband anyway and TP is mostly open.

Ok all, what I was getting at was now that you are all under boost you should feel the lag of the throttle body open without the TB controller at lower RPM's. Can you guys describe in more detail the driving experience under these circumstances? Are any of you running a boost gauge? With the TB controller you should be able to open the TB% at a lower RPM. This should bring the revs up sooner than without one.

So think, with one = 100% TB opening@2,000RPM floored from a standstill as apposed to without one = 65%-70% TB opening@2,000RPM. It seems to me that the car would take off much faster.

What we really want/need here is 100% TB opening right off the line!

Like I had mentioned... yes it does increase the speed you take off. With the highboost I have.. it almost automatically wants to spin the wheels when taking off... even when not launching.. So to answer your question It feels definitely quicker off the line.. but after about 3500rpm it feels the same as with no throttle controller and just the boost. Now I didnt have it installed with the base kit so my expeience with it is only on the highboost kit.

The ETC I have has a read out of the % of throttle opening and when in the slowest opening eco 5 mode it will still open 100% when floored but unlike the sp modes the throttle activation isn't as touchy.... I don't dump my clutch at four or five grand but still get more than enough wheel spin from three grand on up in first and second and it is easy to hit the 7200 RPM rev limiter in first from a 1500RPM roll on application of the throttle and have the tires break loose in first and shifting at 7000 to second lighting them up again on the sp7 mode. The ETC is a good thing to have for performance driving and lowering fuel usage.

My install took like 5 min.... They go anywhere from $100-300 depending on the brand.

Ok well thanks for the feedback on the controllers guys. I'm going to look into getting the throttle to work linear.

No, I used to Have an SRT-4 and John the owner used to drive the blue one in some SCCA touring car class. I helped with the rebuild of that car after it caught fire. He had a bit of bad luck with it for 2 seasons if I remember and ended up selling it off. He is BIG into Fords and races a dedicated race escort GT. Things got like 120HP and blew the doors off me around willow springs once he got the tires up to temp! Haha

I work with Honda's ASIMO robot as you can see in my Avatar. I was never into Honda's until this job. I've come to respect the build quality/reliability of their cars and amazed at how they make N/A power on their engines! Needless to say I dumped my SRT! Haha
