My fit with old exhaust and filter is as fast as my ep3 si from a dead stop through 3rd gear. Once I shift to 4th the ep3 starts to pull away.

My guess is you're hitting mid/low 15s? I know EPs aren't that fast though, good to know it pulls better than one =) Also, is it your DD?
yes 5psi. Their sales staff followed the instructions and bolted it up with oscar sr and jr watching over them, so im sure its bolt on. The BOV is cool, not annoyingly loud. Im pretty sure that the car is breaking 14's. Yes this is my DD.

I could live with high 14's low 15's. but low 14's would be nice. hehe. for 5psi kit, I think that's pretty good. I think I'm set on this SC.

i think a 5 psi kit will be mid 15's, unless you magically get a 1.6 60 ft LOL. my car on spray with about 168WHP fully gutted was around mid 14's

Hey Chris, could you explain to us on how cool the BOV sounds like? I didn't know this kit had one.

I know this has probably been asked before, but with a 5psi kit, do we need to get a autotranny cooler? If it helps to have one, I'll get one. but if the tranny runs just fine with the 5psi kit, I'll hold off the cooler for a while.

The BOV is pretty quiet, only really noticeable at higher RPMs. I dont know what the AT kit will consist of, I know theyre working on it now so we'll see.

Pro:
Should last about 200,000 miles with normal maintenance.
Great looks. Should get about the same mileage without stepping on it.

Con:
Need PREMIUM gas. Ooof! I bought the Fit to get away from that. Now, how bad do I want that Scharger. I have been drooling since I saw the first post about it.

Wait I thought that Oscar said there wasn't a BOV but an RV on the kit. Is this something you added or will it be in the kit?

I think I will get one of these when they come out. Do you have to run premium fuel tho?

Hello Jackson Racing,
So I just read all 20 pages of this thread. Dayum.

(1) Is it possible to get around 125-130 wheel HP on
an A/T Fit with the 5# sc kit plus any other mods,
and CARB legal? I ask because I see 120 WHP
for the MT 5# version. I would like 5-10 more, but
on the AT. Not sure I would trouble myself to go from
80 WHP to 105 WHP on the AT. But if it's around
125-130 WHP, I'm there.

(2) I am a modest driver, but would enjoy more freeway
merging/passing power. Usually I toodle in the slow
lane about 60-65 mph, and get 35-40 mpg. Would I still get
about the same mileage for freeway cruising?

(3) Does the 5# kit require premium strictly, or would regular
get by okay within standard knock sensor range? ie, will
regular knock something awful, or will the timing be retarded
enough to handle it? (ie, someone puts regular into the
vehicle accidentally -- does the engine get damaged?
)

(4) How many estimated hours for install, *and*
uninstall (for that darned every 2-year CA smog check).

About the price, I almost bought a loaded Audi A3, and the
Fit was less than 1/2 the price of the A3, out the door. The
reliability of my previous VW turned me off from buying the
Audi. ie, I bought the Fit because there was no other car that
I was willing to lay the big $$$ cash down for. The Fit was a
cheap no-brainer. But I'll pony up for a somewhat more
powerful Fit, if I can still score good freeway mpg.

Thanks!

1. The kit might make it close to there. My fit dynoed at 142whp with a header back exhaust. So to achieve your goal of 125-130 it should be pretty easy.

3. You HAVE to run at least 91 octane

4. This one I dont know. lol. but the you wouldnt have to remove it for smog.

Header-back exhaust, does that remove or keep the cat converter (ie, CARB conforming?)

I sure could use a down-to-earth explanation of a typical aftermarket setup and prices specific to the Fit. I understand that (1) intake get more air to the engine (2) supercharger stuff more air into the engine (3) exhaust get it out of the engine -- but I don't really know the specifics of what I'm suppose to be shopping for.

So (3) I find a more free-flowing exhaust, without the racer-boy soundtrack. And (2) that's what we're waiting for in this forum thread. What about (1) do I need to be changing header or intakes or something for more real-world gains?

I was quoted (over the phone and you know what THAT means...) from my 'car club' of over $950.00 just on installation... Is there a separate unit for the AT? As you know the CAI is just for the MT and that pic of the SC unit from J's looks as if it is supposed to go down the fender well?!?

Yes i removed my cat and replaced it with a test pipe.

[b] This is all depending on what you want to do with your car, what kind of power, and your budget. You will make gains with your normal I/H/E But they will be minimal. With my header back before the SC i was making likw 8whp. Although the torque imrpoved alot more and you could really feel the difference.

With the Jackson kit, you wont need a intake, it essentially comes with one. Anytime you add, say a header/exhaust, to a FI setup it will help you. I think with just a header and exhaust you should easily be able to make about 7whp extra.

For those who wish to remain CARB legal, remember that several of the magazines have tested high flow cats vs test pipes and consistently found less than 3 hp difference between the two. So when you are adding 50-70 hp with the SC that would be totally unnoticeable.
