Or is it pretty much a free pass. meaning it boosts the power with little to no effect on ultimate engine wear.

please dont flame me, ive used the tags and read up on the various threads and my question hasnt really been answered.

thanks
Basic rule of thumb: Take care of your car and your car will take care of you.

Problems aren't totally avoidable, as there are just too many variables, however, generally, if you treat your car like you would your body, getting check-ups and routine maintenance and things like that, your problems should be minimal to none.

That said, there will typically be a bit more engine wear, however, based on JR's history with Honda/Acura, you should be good to go. I'd expect the quality and reliability to be there as it has always been. Just remember to do the maintenance.

thanks for the info guys... i do realize the whole wear and tear of forced induction; i just wasnt sure how badly this s/c would be to my car. Cause i remember stories in high school of kids s/c or t/c their hondas and completely destroying them etc. and i wasnt sure if the 5psi of boost was alot or a little, you know.

cause i essentially just want something for a little bit of a kick if i decide to drive hard, almost like a stock s/c or t/c car (ex. buying a mini cooper cause you thought it was fine and then realizing you wanted more power; throwing on your own s/c kit, and making it essentially the same as the Cooper S with same shelf life etc.) Would this jackson kit be mimicking my little analogy/ex.?

you guys are awesome... ive been on some forums where anyone with less then 10,000 posts are attacked, berated and flamed to death.

im sure they used other boltons with the setup, and the kit already has the intake, so you think youll make 20-30 more hp with exhaust and header? lol

I am VERY interested in this kit (mainly the 5lb. kit). I do however drive a AT and i know they have been saying that the kit will work with stock internals, but for how long.....really. I know 5lbs of boost isnt gonna put a whole helluva lot of stress on the Fits stock internals but its the trasmissions life-span im worried about. Are they taking in to consideration the long term effects this kit could have on the transmission. I really hope so but i really want FI on my Fit, that would be sweet......especially if i dont have to worry about it the whole time.

Jackson Racing designs their Kits so that they are designed without straining the drivetrain. so I know for a fact the motor along with tranny were taken into consideration.

cool, gives me a little more peace of mind on the subject. my next question......when does this thing come out?! as far as i know the kit for the MT isnt even out yet which gives me the feeling the AT kit is WAY far off (which isnt really THAT big a deal considering i dont have the funds right now anyway). does anyone have an inkling of an idea of how much the AT kit will be? the MT kit ive heard about $3500, which gives me the impression that the AT kit could be anywhere from $3800-$4000+ (god i hope not).

i dont think the pricing will be different, the only thing that has to be changed is the piping to clear the bigger tranny.

I havent gotten a chance to talk to Oscar in a couple weeks. Last time I spoke with him he said the Kit should be coming out really soon. The 5 PSI kit will be street/smog legal. As far as installation and how much it would cost im not really sure. I know the kit is going to be pretty DIY. It really doesnt look very hard to install at all. The kit does not include tuning, However you probably wont need it anyways.

dang i was planning on waiting on buying this (like after various warranties expired) but you guys have me feeling good about getting this right off the bat. It sounds fairly safe, mainly because i dont drive like a total maniac... so what is the estimated HP on stock everything with jrsc for the 5psi boost?
