Think i found a good power source for the dimmer. The RED/YEL wire going to the fog light relay is only live when the headlights are on (at least that is what i read in the independent fog light thread). Tomorrow when i install the new sender and rewire my fog lights i will hook it up. Hopefully that will work as well as make my fogs independent.

also you can look for a red/black as its normally parking lights in a honda.

finito!

got the new sending unit installed today. Still reading a it low though. I might disconnect the tranny cooler until it warms up in the spring.

Anywho, here's a couple of pics of the gauge. Got it to dimm by hooking it up to the red/yel wire in the headlight switch.

the new sending unit has 2 wires. 1 for temp and 1 for ground. I ran the ground to the gauge ground and tapped that connection to the engine block.

They have all the gauges you mentioned above plus more.

go to Cyberdyne Guages Home and check them out.

That is a GOOD point. i never thought about Fahrenheit vs. Centigrade. I guess i will be calling them shortly to find out.

EDIT: just checked their website and it states trans temp gauge reads from 70 - 260 Fahrenheit. I need to find out what the normal operating temp range is for the Fit dammit. The f'in helms manual doesn't say.

Nice Install! Good thing you found a wire that give B+ sorry I for got to check out that fuse for you! Now i'm on Fitfreak, And saw your post and was like... oops! Anywayz, did you figure out a dimmer B+ circuit?

there was only one wire for dimm coming out of the gauge. i connected it to the red/yel wire coming to the headlight switch which only gets power when the headlights are on. works great. now i can see at night without the blue led burning my retina.

Synthetic oil is alway great under heat conditions. I have one experience which my 2007 sport fitHonda automatic transmision got hot. I was driving elevation . Driving up to mt walker in Olympic national forest. I pulled off the road because there was nothing i could do about it. Seems a cooler would be nice.I had done that same drive in a base fit with manual tranny and did not have the heat problem.
