Into and question, buy new or used?

I'm ready to buy a Fit. I had a reservation for the new Ford Fiesta, but because Ford engineers never visit the mountain West, no clearance was provided for LEGALLY REQUIRED snow chains or cables.

I test drove or rented, over the past couple of years, Aveo, Cobalt, Versa, Yaris, Civic, Fit and Fiesta. The last one a pre-production model at a test track event, and I loved how it drove. The Fit is my second choice but way ahead of the other competition.

My previous Honda experience is only with 1960's motorcycles. Yes, I'm a hated boomer hanging out here. My brother is on his second Civic GX, so I do have some new Honda car exposure.

Anyway I like the 1st gen Fit a little better than the 2nd, but used Hondas dont seem worth it compared to a deal on new. Since I only drive manuals the selection is limited.

New Fit Base, price quote from dealer, $15,100
2007 Fit Sport, CPO, one owner, 46K miles, $12,000
2008 Fit Sport, no warranty, accident history, 60k miles, $10,000

The only cheaper ones I can find have salvage titles.

I can afford the new one, but which would you choose?

:[ no one replied to you. I have the 07 model and I just find the newer one a bit too triangular. Congrats though on the new Fit. How do you like it?
