Independent foglight problem!!!!! please help!

i just did the independent foglight mod by running the wire from the steering wheel to the one of the fuses in the fuse box with an add a circuit, for sum reason i woke up to go to work and my power steering, my mileage meter, and speedometer/mph gauge wasnt working at all, so when i got home i re connected everything the way it was before and even tried it on different fuses and whatever fuse i put it on it wont let something function right, im leaving it the way it was but i was wondering wny the hell it did this bec it scarred the crap out of me bec i thought i fried the comp or something. has anyone else had this problem? i didnt disconnect the battery when i did it and i have luminics foglight bulbs if that helps for an answer

I'm sorry bro. This is why I haven't tried the mod yet. I was afraid that would happen to me. I fail at wiring/cutting/crimping/all that jazz. I hope someone can help you out though!

Did you try putting it into a spot with an existing fuse or did you just stick it in an empty spot? Make sure you do the latter or check the fuse panel to see where you're sticking it. There should be enough empty spots under there to just plug it in, either that or you cut the wrong wire on the steering wheel column. Did you verify that the fogs were actually turning on independently?

ya the fogs worked perfect, but everything else wasnt, ya i stuck it into the number 3 spot which is the ignition meter and it had a 10 amp fuse in there so i used the add a circuit and put the existing fuse in the add a circuit and pluged it in. the lights worked fine but everything else was messed up, maybe there is too much power from the fogs bec the fog fuse is a 20 amp fuse

Don't even bother with an add-a-circuit. Just get one of those male connectors with the two prongs and stick it into an empty fuse slot.

That's the way I have it wired up, works fine. I'll take a picture of it in a bit if you'd like.
