Here is our "151R" vs a 51/51R. Only difference, as you can see, is width. I didn't get the weight of stock, but I believe the yellow top 51 is about 30lbs. edit- says 27.4 and 26.5 online

The Optima D51R goes right in, no need to move the fusebox, as long as we're all talking about the USDM model.

You mean, like if you left your dome light on and your car dies? All batteries will die, but the Optima will hold on a lot longer then the stock battery. I haven't had the car die on me with the optima yet, knock on wood if i ever forget some power is on. That's how long it would last me.

Eventually if the battery dies, it will not start. Just like any other, but it could be jumped. Other people can jump your car with cables or whatever, and it would be able to drive again. Wouldn't need a jump anyways, because the battery can last a long time on, and if you drive a long distance or something, itll just charge back the battery though the alternator.

or if you want to do your own research its a 30L size motorcycle battery.
The Braille 3121 is 550 CCA versus the above linked battery at 365 CCA.

Kinetik HC800 battery works well!! Well you have to do a few mod to the terminals though, since the post is on the wrong side.

yea i gotta change teh battery too, i see my lights dimming hmm, i actually made a thread about it, dont know why i didnt see this one anyway, yes the size is D51R (or 51R, smae thing) as far as optima goes. but now that i've heard of braile, i think im going with that one. since ill be keeping the car after my parents ditch it. is there any negetives with the braile compared to the optima?

So for those of us not really willing to go over the $150 threshold and are trying to get the best performance for the $,...the general consensus is the $99 Magna Power-Power Sports ETX30L AGM Battery-365 CCA??

Dont really care about racing or audio necessarily,...but I'll often use alot of battery power when the car is not running on things like laptops and charging.

Just looking for several batteries to compare and choose from if there isint a clear winner here? Thanks for the reply.

Just a useful tip. Never ever ever put a new battery or any batter in any case on assfault. I have no clue why and some might think I'm crazy. I mean when I herd that I thought it was just a bunch of honkey. Then once when I worked at auto zone a few years ago I put a new battery on the ground and when somebody bought it they came back because they stated it was dead. Ok coinkidink. So then my friend did the same at the shop and it then put out low voltage. So just heads up for anybody. Also does anybody know why that happens? I have no clue...

That's one of the first things they teach you in automotive electric. Earth is ground so if putting the battery down put it on something non conductive like wood. Best lessons are experienced though. Thanks for the info.

What causes this is ANY amount of dirt or moisture on the battery case. This will allow the case to conduct a small amount of current to ground. For this reason, keep your battery case CLEAN, even when installed in the car. A build-up of dirt and moisture on the outside of a battery case can cause a battery to self-discharge over time. A very wise old mechanic taught me this.
