Exactly, it also weighs in at anywhere from 200-500 lbs more.

If the Civic hatch could have magic seats, then I'll be in line tomorrow lol

Pathetic Automatic Scum. I won't buy it if it doesn't have 3 pedals.

That’s because it is slower. It is slower than any model of Fit ever sold in the US.

and no 3 pedal option... it may not have sucked so hard if it had a 3 pedal option. it'd be like a sporty little jeep.

Do car models come back after being discontinued?

Honda Fit Discontinued for the U.S., Despite New Global Hybrid Model

I really really hope that it returns. My current Fit is a 2018, but it's a lease. Was going to buy it, but then the hybrid models were announced. Got really hyped about trading in my lease for one of those, but then it being discontinued obviously ruins that plan.

If the demand and business case is there, sure. But I think it'd take another gas crisis for people to seriously consider a small or compact car.

With the pandemic and having the ability to work from home, I haven't had to fill up the fit in several weeks. I bet this is changing people's driving habits and the gas efficient small car isn't a priority.

I recently moved and already cut my commute by half during this pandemic, but I'm working 100% from home and haven't been to the office since early March. We have an Odyssey for family trips and I drive the fit maybe once or twice a week at most right now. If this keeps up, next vehicle might just be a truck since I do a lot of home projects and the ability to carry kayaks easier.

Keep in mind the overall backdrop here of gas getting down to 2$/gallon. Fueling costs are not currently a concern; here in MA my hybrid driving friends have been complaining that it’s more expensive to plug it in than burn gas. (As a result they look for free charging at work or wherever, although it’s obviously not “free” from a production perspective).

Since other costs of a car - insurance, depreciation, maintenance - are more substantial, I bet most ppl are thinking, I’m either going to buy a larger car or I’m just not going to buy a car at all.

No More Fits for U.S. Market (awwww)

I just saw the news yesterday.

I hoped to one day own a (new) Fit. This news makes me sad. I can't justify the purchase of another car, as my 2010 Prius, purchased new, has such low mileage and I do really like it, and it's been fully paid for since I drove it off the lot.

Bye Fit...I sure am sad to see you go. While I never owned one, just seeing them makes me smile.

The HRV seems to be their focus for this market now.

It seems like everyone killed off their cars in the US market. E.g. Ford only sells the Mustang now, it's all CUVs and SUVs otherwise. They still sell the Fit in Europe but I haven't seen many of the new ones around, if any at all really.
