Check engine light
Check engine light
Hey guys please help..i jump-started a friend last week...he mistakenly swapped positive with negative terminal.. there was a bit of a spark after that my check engine light came on...i unplugged my battery and plugged it again the light came off...after a while it came on again..every time i remove the terminals it comes off but after a while it comes back on again. What could be the problem???
Hey,The check engine light coming on after a jump-start where terminals were swapped suggests an electrical issue. Possible causes include a faulty O2 sensor, blown fuse, damaged wiring/connectors, or issues with the battery/alternator. To resolve it.
- Get the error codes scanned to identify the specific issue.
- Inspect wiring/connectors for damage or loose connections.
- Check and replace blown fuses related to the engine management system.
- Consider seeking professional help if unable to diagnose or fix the problem. Don't ignore the check engine light.
Hello,
An OBD scan tool tells you the Check Engine code(s) stored in your vehicle's computer system. These codes indicate specific issues with the vehicle, but further diagnosis is usually needed to identify the exact problem.
