1.7 years average 29.8 mpg and increasing w/ the lite shoes. Last f.u. was 35.15 mpg all around town driving w/ AC on it's been a hot summer here in VA Beach! .

 

Ok that's about where mine is at....just wanted to see if maybe mine was running at a higher RPM than others

Yeah stock rims... with heavily mod'd lug nuts ... I have a lock...

 

You'd be pleasantly surprised with a lite set of rims 13lbs. per. and tires to match 18lbs. or <. So if and when; be sure to have weight in the forefront of rim selection and looks a really close second .

 

I'm with you there... Just not a priority on the Fit... It's my son's DD to school. I've got SSR-C's on my Bug eye Rex . Function 1st... Bling's just a plus but not mandatory... Thanks!

 

im getting like 16-20 mpg just driving like a grandma... i only weigh 130 with not much cargo in the car... just replaced the air filter and most of the fluids also. 58k miles on the car when i got it and i've driven a good couple hundred miles. not really sure what's wrong, i might as well get a truck and enjoy the 16-20mpg -_-

 

That's pretty awful. When did that start? I got new tires a while ago and soon after that, like the next fill-up, my mileage dipped noticeably. I wonder if the gas companies have changed the proportion of ethanol or something? Seems like they are ruining our mileage just to use up corn...so stupid...

 

well that's how it's been since i received it from the dealer about 3-4 weeks ago. just changed all the fluids, but not much of a difference. a few hours ago i did the ecu reset/idle learning process. hope it makes a difference. gonna check the psi on my tires in a bit too

 

I have had my fit since earlier this year and when I first got it I was averaging around 33 mpg. It has since slowly gone down to around 29 or 30 mpg. I think a large part is driving style, but can not seem to get back up even when I pay close attention to my driving style. I am doing mixed driving, primarily highway though.

update us on this. that's terribly low gas mileage, hills or not.

and keep in mind even grandma needs to get down on it every once in a while

 

So, today marks one month that I have had my 2008 Fit Sport A/T.

I've been tracking my mileage via Fuelly.com. I started with the 3rd tank since the first tank was from the dealer and the second tank involved me running the engine at idle a lot trying to figure out/fix the bubbling sound behind the dash.

My average over six fill-ups is 30.2 MPG. My best thus far has been 31.3 MPG. This is all pretty much commute driving (29 miles each way). There is a fair amount of traffic at times, but my current work schedule has me going into the office pretty early and coming home pretty late, so traffic is usually pretty light on the highways when I'm on the road. Then there's the errands, etc. on surface streets.

This mileage is close to what I was getting in my 2008 Hyundai Accent SE 5-speed initially when I bought it back in late June of this year. However, my commute at that time was in heavier traffic a lot of the time, and I was running the A/C. So, the Fit is definitely getting lower gas mileage than the Hyundai, which had an average of 32.3 MPG over 27 fill-ups (end of June through October 31, when it was totaled).

I did see an average increase of about 2 - 3 MPG in the Hyundai after I installed a AEM Short Ram Intake, so I will more than likely install some sort of intake on the Fit to help with the mileage.

I am a little bummed that my average mileage is lower than what I was getting in the Hyundai, but I do realize that having an automatic reduces MPG a bit. Plus, the Fit punches a little larger hole in the air than the Hyundai did, which probably hurts a bit as well. Maybe with an intake, I'll start seeing a bit of an improvement.

 

2012 Sport AT, 3 months old, 3014 miles on 84.868 gallons = 35.5 mpg. I drive mostly highway and country roads; no city driving.

 

My very first tank was 31 MPG. I topped off my second tank at just under half, and it was right at 37 MPG. I was real happy with those numbers. My 3rd tank was 33 MPG. All these numbers were hand calculated. I'm working on my 4th tank now and when I pulled into garage this evening, the read out said 34.8 mpg.

I'm going to fill up tomorrow or the next night, so I'll have a more accurate number for this tank later this week.

I'm coming from a Dodge Caliber, which would get 26-28 and sometimes less. Ugh! So far, in a mix of city/highway Atlanta metro traffic, I'm pretty impressed.

 

I filled up tonight. It took 8.319 gallons. 299.5 miles. 36 MPG hand calculated. Read out in Fit said 35.2 MPG and it was climbing all the way home tonight.

I'm so pleased with this awesome little car!

 

Just took a 1600 mile trip with my 2008 Fit AT, all interstate and I averaged 36.5 mpg.

 

I'm currently driving a 2011 Fit base A/T rental car, while my 2012 is being worked on. The rental kas 22k+ miles on it.

Here are some results from my first fill up:

I filled up this morning and hand calculated 35.5 MPG. Readout was 35.2 MPG on the dash. That's pretty close and very good MPG for a mix of city/highway in metro Atlanta rush hour during the work week.

After the fill up, I drove it into work (36 miles from the gas station). Mostly highway. When I pulled into work, 43.5 MPG on the readout. That's incredible!

I'm very impressed and can't wait to take mine on a trip and see what I can get on a long stretch of highway.

 

As long as you don't do silly things like supercharging the engine these little cars continue to improve in fuel economy as they wear in and loosen up... When you think it could never get any better they surprise you with better mileage figures...
