How do you get 38 miles? I am averaging 30 miles to a gallon. I am glad yours is not having problems. I have gone about 800 miles.

30MPG is fine on a brandy new FIT. Just keep driving the MPG will go up. I do no "city" driving for the most part. When I do the MPG's go down. Also with the hills you mention that will have an effect.

It is a very reliable car - what's ya doing about the clunk?

Red face

The dealer tightened the tire and it is fixed it was a loose tire. Also, I drove over a drill bit on the road. Not the greatest luck on my first week and a half driving one.

HA! A bit discerning but glad it was that simple. A drill bit in the tire????

I had the exact same experience driving to Maine 15yrs ago in my then new Eagle Summit. A strange front end noise that was steering related. I had convinced myself it was a wheel bearing problem. Found a mechanic and dropped it off. He took a short spin and figured the same. Then, up on the lift, he sees it's loose wheel lugs. _me and him. Just shows to go you....

I'm gonna wager that you in for many service free miles on your new FIT.

I have had my Fit four years and I haven't let the dealer touch it.... I do believe that it's about time for a valve adjustment and I'm not letting the dealer or any of the tobacco chewing bubbas around here lay a wrench on my car.

I am just glad that the tire didn't fly off while I was driving it because the sound was horrible. The guy that worked on my Fit was not chewing tobacco or creepy looking. I did learn people steal Honda Fit tires and rims so I bought locks and now park my Fit in the garage. The dealer told me a set of four Fit rims are 3 thousand. I never knew that when I bought it. I don't see why they don't automatically come with locks if there is such a problem with it.
