alright, did some searching and found this thread.

https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...my-review.html

looks like im going with DWS! im not terribly 'in luv' with the continental DW (summer tires) i have on my 370Z for colder weather, but they do perform much better in sub 50F temps vs RE050A PolePosition and S03 Pole Positions ive had in the past. the steering input is very soft vs bridgestones for sure.

in that respect (actually all areas), the S04's i have on the G perform much better than the S03's and RE050A's.

on the way home i took a few turns pretty quick and no tire squeal. and vsa did not turn on. im liking the new setup.

definitely good i dont trust people cause i checked the torque on the strut bottom bolts including the camber bolts when i got home. the strut bolt (factory one) was nice and tight above 65ft lbs, but the camber bolt wasn't very tight.

torqued it up to 70ft lbs (i think spc uses 77 but i dont know for certain).

here's the bolt kit i used. highly recommended!

Haven't had a set on my Fit, driven a Fit with DWSs, nor have driven a vehicle with those tires in the snow; however, my uncle's E60 535I had a set within a few months of their production start that replaced the crummy Goodyear Eagles that came standard on the car.

Very quiet tire in comparison to the E60's Goodyears, they performed very well in the rain especially since size went from 225/50R17 to 245/45R17 on all 4 corners, as well as had pretty good traction on dry, hot road surfaces with the Dynamic Traction Control turned off. I'm sure the extra 20mm of tread also helped with that too. ^.^

The only thing that seemed to bug me regarding the DWS on the E60 was that the sidewalls were a little softer than the Eagles BUT it wasn't my car to drive so I can't really complain. haha If they made the DWS in either 195/55R15 or 205/50R15 I'd definitely pick up a set for my GD.

Thanks hootie. I think soft sidewall is continental's character across the board. Its the same way on the DW's.

drove the GE to work this am in the rain. roads were completely wet and drove it pretty spiritedly.
not once did vsa activate. ofcourse i wasn't being stupid by dumping the clutch or anything in
the rain to induce vsa, but including quick accleration from a left turn lane on a slight incline,
accelerating from wide painted lines on the pavement, no slip. i conclude my car is dialed-in for
my roads around here.

the only parts i used for 'handling' were: swift springs, spc camber bolts (-1.5 camber with zero toe),
17x7 ET45 wheels with 205/45/17 Bridgestone RE760 tires.

and if you look at the RE760's reviews, it's not the most grippy tires... which means i could easily
switch out to another set and further improve grip if i wanted. but as a dd and spirited driving
with only 110hp or watever this thing has, RE760's plenty grip.

i actually thought the drive this morning was fun.

oh yah, remember a few pages back i complained about the braking? yah, i changed my driving habit
on this car to heel and toe down to 2nd gear as part of normal driving when i need more braking power.
usually on my G or Z i only downshift to 3rd gear unless im prepping for a turn which i would use 2nd.

unless i REALLY need to brake hard, i dont swing my heel around; i just use the side of my foot to blip
as i usually do on my G35C when im braking in normal to pretty fast driving. the benefit is i can brake
lightly and still be able to blip controllably in any rpm up to redline if i desired.

so, that and braking a sec or two earlier than usual fixed my braking woe's.

Motored my G today, was a great drive until some pos bottom of the food chain garbage driving in front slow and stupid.. Hahahaha. Anyway no time to give them my time or energy to hate, so just tolerated their existence for 10 sec before I stuck a pass.
Kenchan! Thx for your help-again!!

the tires are much softer so it doesn't stiffen up like most summer tires too.

i will be hibernating the Z when i see temps dropping below 30F at night. the village starts spraying this corrosive crap on the roads and while the car can handle it, i dont like seeing surface rust/corrosion on my hobby car's under carriage when im doing an oil change.
my Z also residing indoors for cold weather..garage is done and car cover was first purchase months ago

TGIF, ms.blackcherry! congrats on the garage! that's awesome. have you thought about spending more money on
storage goodies? such as (very good investments below):

1) 120v compact air compressor for tires
2) digital pressure gauge
3) raceramps flatstoppers

here are some links of the units i use.

very reliable for the last 4yrs. can't say that about the other fancier ones i tried...
Black & Decker ASI300 Air Station Inflator - Electric Air Compressor - Amazon.com Black & Decker ASI300 Air Station Inflator - Electric Air Compressor - Amazon.com

very good valve and reliable calibration... i use 42psi during storage.

so this weekend i think im going to check the headlight aim on the 09 GE.
i remember it being very hard to see compared to my G/Z which run HID's.

i noticed the other week that my '12 GE's headlights aim weren't bad at tall.
illumination was no issue...could be that the swift springs leveled the car or
honda noticed the problem and fixed it.

im going to park both cars facing the garage door, turn the lights on at night,
and adjust the 09's aim.

GoodAM everyone. took the GE on a short road trip across town this am. did surface and expressway speeds.
car handled great. tackled a few very quick tight turns too...front camber/toe is imho very good.

going to be heading to another part of town in a little bit.

when i get home im going to wash the GE's and pressure up the tires by 3psi. temps dropped significantly
this am, and expecting cooler weather next week. a few weeks back i set the tires to 33psi at 70F and it
was 55F this am, so the tires were under inflated.

70F-55F = 15F or 1.5psi difference
33psi - 1.5pss = 31.5psi (or 0.5psi under inflated).
