Ended up turning the lock back on for the other doors when i shut off the car. having all doors unlock with just me inside kinda felt unsafe. Lol like i felt like a defenseless sitting duck.

so with the braking capacity issues on the GE that i sense each time i drive it, i think im going to get RPF1's instead as my year around wheelset. meaning, this is going to drive through salt/snow and rain.

shall i do 17's or 16's? either way im running DWS. i think im going to do 17's in silver.

Stock = ~36lb per wheel
RPF1 16's with DWS = ~32.7lb per wheel
RPF1 17's with DWS = ~34.6lb per wheel

I think 17's look better though
17's

16's

hey krunk thanks for the info and picts. yah, i think appearance is better on the 17's for GE. hummmm...

i thought the 16's would have more weight savings but only about 3lbs a corner, huh?

Yeah the DWS weighs 20lb in 205/45/r17

G-MAX AS-03 only weighs 18lb if your trying to save on weight.

yah, i think the gap you see there between light snow, deep snow, and ice traction is pretty big. especially deep snow traction is pretty close to the pilot A/S which i know suck in snow...

in other news, i didn't know the RE970' do better than the DWS in the snow, thanks krunk!!

boo, no sizes for 205/45/17. this is probably why i was not aware of the RE970's until now... oh well. i know some folks ran that tire on their 370Z's but then, it's why the f- would someone run tires like that on a sports car? lol

yah, you can tell that i dont really care for continental tires, huh? lol

honestly im not a big fan of continental tires but since they do well in the reviews and surveys, ive chosen them. that is the ONLY reason.

my brand of choice are bridgestone, michelin, yokohama.

I actually ran the DWS on my Prelude SH for the same reason ( good reviews). It was good in the snow but its kinda soft in the corners when you really push it.... Way better than the stock Dunlops though

cool, i had a gen5 long time ago too. on that i use to run dunlop sp8000's. very good grip in the canyons.

yah, continentals are pretty soft and has a muted feel on the turns, but im running this on a car with only swift springs and its a dd for mostly 90% straight roads so it's okay.

We get about 6-12in of snow a year. Lots of Ice because of high winds so there is always lots of salt and grit on the road. I'm thinking of using plastidip this year
