I've observed that 80% of minivan drivers drive like morons, my wife and I assume it's because they hate their life and hate their car.

When I was car shopping I went to a Nissan dealership to test drive the Versa 6MT and they were having a hell of a time finding a MT hatch, the saleslady said to me:

"you have kids why do you want a stick? How about a Cube?"

"I have kids, i'm not dead inside"

They ended up finding one after an hour. Versa drove like a fridge and had about as much soul as one anyway.

I feel ya though, carry on.

yah, i agree completely. i think there is a huge divide. ones like you and me that luv life with kids, and those that think life with kids is just a big ol' hassle. i think people like that just dont know how to manage their life and priorities. they get sucked into that stereotypical 'we need to do this because we have kids' mode.

i dont have the luxury of time like life before kids, but i still allocate time for myself to play with my fun cars or play in my other cave (music room). wife and i still do all the things we luv to do together and by ourselves... just in shorter durations.

and yah, it's funny how some people stereotype parents as needing certain things... like why would you need a AT Versa just because you got kids. or why a cube? or minivan? why not a 370Z 6MT, or a S2K, or a MX5, watever . who cares if it doesnt have rear seats, it's not like im with my kids 100% of the day. i think about them a lot, but just because i have kids doesnt mean i cant have a sports car. just get a dd like a Fit. it's part of the car hobby.

money? whatever it is, one does NOT and SHOULD NOT imho sacrifice everything just because they have kids; it becomes too much of a burden for them. not healthy for you, not healthy for the family. who the hell buys a minivan just because he/she has a family. that is so stupid. if one has no interest in cars and or really needs the utility, go for it. but a car person in their right mind would not get a boring car just because of kids.

i think the GE MT has a lot to offer. even if this is the only car, it has plenty of fun factor, mod-ability (if that's even a word ), and utility. one can have fun with the Fit all year round. Versa, xb, cube, sentra... probably not so much...they are just cheap appliances to me. civic, accord.. YAWN... kia, hyundai, toyota yaris, matrix, corolla, camery, any toyota... no thanks, not enough specialty feel and drives boring.

so with these new wheels i think the car would look better with decals... i already have the ivtec decal on the rear doors.

what other decals do you guys recommend? i suppose a few on the rear window (dont want too much as i need to scrape ice in the winter) and some parts of the car.

I will never understand people who buy minivans/suv because they have 1 or 2 kids. If everyone in my family (all 4 of us) are well above average height and we can fit in a 2012 for 18 hours straight, any family of 4 can do so.

I think a minivan is a MUCH better choice than an SUV. On a long trip you cant always carry 4 people and all there crap in the Fit. I love driving cross country in my moms odyssey because you can sleep comfortably ( legs up on seat) in the back, carry allot of stuff, seat 7-10 people, and the ody handles very nicely (for a van) all while getting 24mpg.

Edit: On a trip from Georgia to California we ran the odyssey for 2 days straight only stopping for gas and food with rotating shifts. One driver and co-driver awake at all times while everyone else slept. Best road trip ever!

the best part about having a minivan with kids is you can buckle them in while you, the parent, is also in the car. that's added safety in parking lots at night, or keeps you dry when there's a storm coming down.

there are obviously benefits to having a large car. but still not enough for me to buy one for my family. main issue is, i dont want convenience as in-laws will think they can just tag along. lol hahaha.

goodam everyone, hope everyone's having a nice wednesday.

rain today, drove my GE to work. i want to see how crummy the DWS turn brown through this. i have the goof-off coming to me today so hopefully on thurs night i can try this stuff and scrub the sidewall real well with a towel.

little OT, but im interested in seeing how the garbage truck picksup our trash bin today. reason being, it is SUPER HEAVY. hahaha. i mean over 100lbs gross weight, i think, of crap. tossing a ceramic planter i was using for a plant inside the house.. thing alone weights like 60lbs+ right there when i picked it up. im expecting the garbage truck to tip over when it picks it off the driveway. will monitor the situation via my IP cameras. hahaha.

im in the boring part of the country... rural midwest. hahaha. well, not quite rural, but enjoying my suburban lifestyle. this is my home town.

you in whittier, huh? been there. nice area with lots of canyons. i use to motor the cayons around malibu every weekend back 13-14yrs ago in my 98 prelude early morning. tuna canyon would fry the brakes if i wasn't careful. hahahaha.

then in the afternoon, i'd go to anaheim to race my RC cars with my buddies. had a great time. in my area here, it's mostly straight roads.

yah, i lived in socal about 3yrs. it's a great place to play with your cars. great food too.

just wanted to settle down with the wife so moved back to my hometown in the midwest. i had culture shock in the beginning cause the roads are so frikken boring here compared to LA, but after a while i made peace with the roads by changing my car selection. 4 banger cars i had were just too damn slow for our roads here. hahaha.
