so been thinking about my car and family situation the last few months and i think im going to hold off buying the next G-coupe (or Abarth for that matter) after i retire my G in the coming year or so.
i want to make more room for bicycles and maybe another workbench in the garage.
my garage is kinda small. it's a wider 2 car garage so i have room to QD both my cars while parked inside the garage, but no extra space left. i have my tool case in there, workbench, bulky hose reel, 2 mobile carts, detailing supplies shelf, shop vac, 2 stupidly big trash bins our village started to use this year (which forced my spare sets of wheels out of the garage)
, etc.
my kids are growing up fast and seems like time is going by even faster these days, so i want to hold off on new car projects and spend more time with my kids. im sure in like 5-6yrs they'd rather spend more time with their friends than play with Dad anyway... lol
so when that time comes, i will revisit the idea of buying my next sportscoupe.
ofcourse my Z will stay so it's not like im abandoning my car hobby at all.
my GE turned out better than i thought so i should be happy just keeping my GE and Z for a couple of years and spend more time cycling with my kids, building things in the garage, etc.

i installed an aftermarket steering wheel with spacers to make the steering closer to me so that i could pull the seat farther back, but that meant my turn signal stalk was farther away.. and shift knob was farther away too.
i would drive 25min or so and im tired. i dont have this problem on my GE, especially the 12 with MT...

damn windy on the way home. holy crap. but my GE actually did quite well despite its tall and narrow shape through crosswind.
those swifts really plant the car down. impressed. night/day difference between my old GD and 09 GE.
cant image how great the car would be with a tad stiffer ride with stiffer dampers.

woot, my 3 pairs of piloti's arrived.
ups guy was kinda funny holding up the box posing in front of my porch camera with the box.
hahaha luv the guy.
my new bulb for the ceiling light 42w flourescent (= 200w
) with the bulb changer tool adapters came in as well. going to swap the bulb over the weekend for sure.

kinda OT, but since im talking about bulbs, here's the LED bulb i use in my music room.
i have them in my canned lights (recessed into ceiling). 2 units. 9w each or 65watts of incandescent power. very white and clean light. i didnt go higher as the fixture is recessed and didnt want to over heat the bulbs.
the best part about LED is that it's an instant ON to full brightness vs flourescent which can take about 2min.
when im in my room i can spend literally 15-16hrs in there if my family's out doing something. at 18w for the two, that's very little power im using for the lights. well, the rest is a different story.

i swapped to the new 42w twisty bulb tonight (for the garage ceiling) using the bulb changer tools i also got.
the bulb takes a good 2-3min to fully illuminate. the color is more white/blue hue than the softer hue. not too bad.
also caldusted my G. definitely going to motor her tomorrow.
will see if i can use up most of the fuel during my drive. packed up stabil in the trunk along with a long funnel.
will want one of these if any of you decide to pour stabil in your hobby car for winter storage.

happy saturday!
frikken sub-freezing temp this am, but dry.
will be taking out my G this am for a nice drive while taking care of a quick errand.
i need to think about bringing in the snows for the 09 pretty soon. next week appears to be dry, but every morning it's about 30-33F, so any precipitation can turn into snow...
but at my life's current pace, it will be Spring in no time.
