was checking out car and driver online and came across the upcoming mazda's 2013 CX-5. its like a CUV (small SUV kinda thing) but it's pretty sporty looking and scheduled to be offered in both AT and 6MT. unlike their other cars with the stupid ugly grin face, this car actually looks pretty good. it's like a poorman's EX35 (infiniti) or a poorman's bmw x3 but yet comes in with a sporty setup at around $20K range.
i might look into this as my future dd. im still eyeing the FRS but the rear hump with cup holders (while removable) might pose an issue for my kids. and im kinda wanting a dd that can carry stuff cause i like shopping at the hardware store.
hahaha.

woot, snow showers possible tonight if it rains as temps are falling down to the 29-30F range. i knew this was going to happen over the weekend, thus the swapping out the SSR's to the snows.
even if it doesn't snow they will spray that corrosive ice melt crap so bring it on!
hahaha. fueled up this am too, so im ready.

gotz another gallon of Griot's SprayOn CarWash on order.
this stuff is really good. bascially a no-rinse car wash.
just a fyi...but when you order any detailing products in the winter time in snow belt states make sure you get it delivered to where you or someone can bring it inside. otherwise products will freeze and most natural wax based products (and some water based products) will not return to its original state once frozen.
and you risk the chance of bottles cracking from expansion.

no snow on the way home tonight...guess i lucked out.
anyway my snow tires are starting to get broken in. i could finally accelerate in 1st with decent amount of thrust without wheel spin tonight even in the wet.

on my G im liking the feel of the stock wheels and taller profile tires. pretty comfy and since the wheels are tucked in closer to the steering pivot point the steering response is better. i guess that will cover for the normal/boring/stock look.
hahaha
i will appreciate the SSR's more when i put them back on next Spring.
going to bring over the GE's snow tireset tonight. be swapping them out tomorrow pm i thinks. temps are higher in the 60F+ over the weekend (indian summer) which will give me a nice window to wash both cars as well.

been a frikken buzy saturday until just now... lol
started off doing some house chores, then motored my Z (which was great, no walmart super sale going on today lol
), swapped out the GE's wheels to snows, washed the car and the summer factory wheels, did more house chores, washed my G, quick lunch, more house chores and finally relaxing in my music room
i had to go to the bank this am so took the GE there after swapping, got back and re-torqued the lugs. im going to need to do it a few times. for some reason the lugs are backing out more than usual...probably something to do with the wax i used on the wheels during storage. lol....i did spray quite a decent amount on them.
hahahaha. same deal with the G's snows. ive retorqued it using 90lbs (snap-on) and still backing out after 3 tries on a few of them. i usually only use 80lbs.

Took the GE out for some Chinese last night. On the way I was tired so the slow drive was pretty good. But the drive home I was going as usual and the car's AT just sucks arse.
While doing the winter wheel swap yesterday I noted that the undercarriage had considerable amounts of rust in the black painted frame bits. I think next spring I'm going seal that up with some rustoleum. My wife seems real happy with the car and had even kinda rejected the idea of getting her a nicer car cause she doesn't want to care about where she parks and stuff. Lol.
. I'm like ok, lets give the GE some tlc next year so it lasts 10yrs so we can spend more money on my dd.

not much car action today. will re-torque the GE and G's snow set for the final time tonight. that's about all. already looking forward to the weekend.
i think this coming weekend is going to be my last round for my Z for this year. i will fill her up again and place her on flatstoppers, give her a final detail + SprayOn Wax and cover her up in her new silver cover. i am keeping my fingers crossed that i can drive her a couple more times before huge snow hits.
this winter im going to be taking the GE often to hit the stores. i want to make a cool workshop for my kids where they can build their lego's and plastic models and do all sorts of arts/crafty things including drawing stuff using freehand (software) in the basement. since i have instrumet stands and stuff left over from my early days i want to make my own set up to recycle them...so that means im heading to homedepot vs ikea.

this am's commute was filled with garbage constipating the flow... were they doing some job fair for shitheads or something this am?
too bad they dont know any better that it only hurts them at the end. tire us hard working folks before work, we do a lousy job at work, people get laid off, those that were fired will not shop at the store or wherever these garbage work at, they too get laid off at the end. gotta get out of that uncontrolled sprial of loser.
looking forward to my drive home.
no car action today. will be timing myself with the SprayOn CarWash again later in the week to see if i can improve my time from 43min... waaay too long to be cleaning my car. need to get it down to at least 30min from start to clean up (tossing towels into the washing machine).
going to be hanging out in my music room tonight... oh wait, need to do house chores first.... crap.

contrary to the am commute jam yesterday, the drive home yesterday was nice.
it wasn't too cold and was nice to drive around with the window down, traffic was on the lighter side.
kinda chilly today and tomorrow but by the weekend up to about 55F on Sat, then will fall gradually to 40's for high, sub freezing for low... which means if it rains it's going to turn into snow. the next 5-6days is suppose to be sunny so this weekend might be my final drive of the season.

looking forward to my drive home.

woot! 28min start to finish.
just as fast as if i washed my car with a bucket.
this is awesome. im going to move my tire stop another 4" or so forward as i could not reach the middle bottom of the rear bumper without opening the garage door.
otherwise no issue. the trick this time was i went from top to bottom and used as much of the cleaner side of the towel as possible without swirling the finish. this results in less switching of towels and reduces time dramatically.
also re-torqued the GE's lugs again. i think i need to do it one more time as it's still backing out slightly.

GE worked out nicely as planned carrying around the new coffee table and some other stuff yesterday. it was a tight fit and had to tilt the rear seat a little momentarily before i could get the entire table into the cargo area. since both my kids and wife were in the car was a tad challenging, but no issue. some college kids were cracking up while i was pretending i could not fit the table at the store pickup area.
then it went in they were like wooo~ nice.
i looked back and i saw that they were trying to fit a larger chair into their corolla. i really LOL'ed at them. they all facepalmed while their friend tried all sorts of angles and approaches but all failed.
hahaha. not sure wat they did after that.
motored my Z this am. was a great drive. going to motor again tomorrow during geezer hr. im off all entire week.

motored the Z this am. looks like rain tomorrow and some snow starting this coming weekend so filled her up and cleaned her up real nicely using SprayOn Wax.
will monitor weather but i may just place her on flatstoppers, fill tires to 42psi, and wrap her up in her new car cover until spring.
i can drive my G on the weekends i suppose.
going to put together that coffee table i bought for the wife today.

looks like sunny weather tomorrow and thurs... hope to pull out my Z. this will probably be the last drives of the season for sure... i hope im wrong.
