looking forward to my drive home. been a fast but long day. too many things going on at the same time at work.

no car action today, but since the landscapers did the grass i might do a quick QD. not sure if it rained at all yet today. looks kinda dark.

a few more days to the weekend.

looks like rain + wind tomorrow so no QD tonight. be a waste of time...will wash the car on Friday again.

so tonight i gave my shift boot in the G some TLC. i used Griot's LeatherCare (not the spray). especially near the knob where it gets the most wear i like to use this stuff. the spray is a bit too thin for area prone to cracking..this stuff works great. smells good too..just like leather. it takes considerably longer to dry fully.

i dont use this or any cream/paste leather products on my seats cause my seats have small decorative breathing holes... the cream/pastes have a tendency to get stuck in the holes and make my black leather look ikky. lol so for seats i use LeatherCare Spray.

ok, so i just realized that the hyundai sedan i saw a few weeks ago was not the Genesis. that was the Equiss or Equus or watever it's called. it's more like $55K+ lol hahaha. have fun explaining that one over and over to your neighbors, coworkers, friends, relatives, etc. etc.

as forecasted, rain and wind today...glad i didnt waste my time QD'ing my G last night. will wash her again on Friday i guess... or maybe Sat. not sure. it gets kinda dark when i get home after work and picking up the kids, so i dont like to be rushed.

i suppose i can wash her friday and then dry her in the garage, using some spray wax as necessary to rid any spots i missed. i have high illumination inside the garage so no issue. for sure though, next car i buy will be smaller than the G so it is easier to clean while inside the garage. my Z for instance is about a foot or so shorter than my G and no issue getting around her even with my tool case infront of her and garage door closed.

this wet/cold weather is hinting me i need to think about pulling out my snow tires from storage for the GE. i have the G's snow tires already stacked up ready to go in my garage. will swap them out probably first week of Nov.

It's a beautiful sunny day with a wonderful temperature of 63 degrees this morning... I have seen Thanksgivings that came with ice coated roads from Oklahoma to Houston so it can get cold here in the blink of an eye but seldom for more than a few days straight... I know that the weather where you are is very difficult to deal with in the winter but to me seeing snow and ice covered roads is like being on another planet and a welcome challenge to get out and drive on... Autumn and Spring are the times of year that we use both the A/C and heat in cars and homes and judging by the coats of the dogs and cats, we may not be seeing terribly cold wet weather this winter. Of course only 2 kinds of people predict weather in Texas and that is fools and Damned Yankees and my family settled in the Carolina region in 1680 and Texas in the 1860s so I must be a fool..

^^ texas- hahahahaha! you are a good story teller.

yah, the winter here can get down to about -5F at times (windchill much colder) but considering some of my car buddies living in canada where they see ambient -40F/C on a daily basis i suppose we have it kinda easy.

i dont really fell 'COLD!' until we are sub 15F. like 20F is like kinda warm for winter. but once you go down past 15F and windchill 0F or below i start feeling cold.

windchill can go down as much as -40F here, one time like 2 decade ago i remember it went down -35F (windchill -70F or something) and my honda still started! it stuggled a little but wow. lol automotive spec is -40C to 85C so it really worked.

looking forward to my drive home.

I saw the temperature at -17 when I lived on a small lake about 20 minutes south of the Oklahoma border and about the same on the high plains outside of Plainview Texas... The first time I had a VW diesel and a 72 Cadillac Hearse with a messed up heater.. Of course the VW injector pump was locked up and I had to take the Hearse 35 miles to work.. I had a Lincoln Town Car the next time in Plainview and it was the only car around that would start and run.. All of the farmers had diesel trucks and were using ag fuel in them so it was 50 miles to and from Lubbock to buy liquor.. I was glad I had air shocks on that big old boat.

yah, cars back then were mostly RWD too.

im hoping my G does okay with snow tires this winter... if not i think im going to get me a slightly used box/hatch to use for winter... i rather not though.

tonight going to clean the inner glass on the G and check where this little rattle ive started hearing a few days ago is coming from. i thought it was maybe from the booster seats cause i only hear it over bigger bumps..i took them out this am but i still hear it.

so next im hoping it's the scissors jack or something simple in the trunk that may have come loose.... or considering it has aftermarket suspension it could be the rear shock mounts, the shock itself (Tokico D-Specs)... or the endlinks might be making noise as i have the stillen swaybars on a pretty stiff setting. typically endlinks rattle at slow speed over uneven pavement. car doesnt rattle over smaller bumps... humm... so my next step is check the trunk, check the shock/shock mount when i swap out to snows in a few weeks... last process of elimination, unlook one of the endlinks and see if that rids the noise or not.

cleaned up the G's inner glass and seats. looks great. i checked the trunk area and i think it was one of the jack related tools making the rattle. with this colder weather the D-specs are tightening up a little more so bigger bumps become a solid bump for the trunk. should be a quiet commute tomorrow.

hope to get home earlier than usual so that i can wash the G.... she looks shiny from 10ft away but filthy up close.

also looks like my griot's order got lost in the mail. they used USPS and i never got it...was shipped out early last week and it's been like over 10 days now. crap. they're sending me a replacement via UPS. not sure if it'll make it in time any more...was hoping to polish/seal the GE. too cold for the product to cure.

should be getting my car cover for my Z soon. while opening the garage in the winter i know for sure blowing snow will get on her so this cover should help.

looking forward to my drive home... im hoping my wife can pick up the kids today so that i can wash my G before dark. (probably wishful thinking... i know how the story's going to turn out. wife will call me at 5pm, asks me to pickup the kids..i pick up the kids, one kid is slower than the other waste valuable daylight... waste more daylight.... finally get home. wow, it's too dark... ).

i guess i will wash her tomorrow am. my wife's got the GE tomorrow so i will need to run my G for one quick errand anyway...meaning i wont be hooking her up to the battery manager tonight.

looks like a sunny weekend for us so going to check psi on my Z tonight to prep for tomorrow's drive. i am due for a nice drive. has been a quick busy week but stress level was through the roof at work. need to relax.

washed my G last night and checked psi on my Z. went out motoring this am while dropping off my kid to school. was a great drive.

i think next season im going to swap out the HU and add some polk components. main reason is the current 5"+ touch screen is too small for me and want a full 7" like in my G. i might just do the kenwood with garmin built-in. this way i can mount my droidx on the current bracket and run some OBD2 monitoring apps.

not too much car action going on, just put my window scrapers in my GE and G yesterday. also motored my Z.

i think starting next week it's going into the low 30's so i may consider swapping out the G's to snows this weekend. will give the GE a few more weeks before swapping them to snows.

not sure when my all season floor mats are going to come in for my G... hopefully soon. too bad weathertech does not offer one for my car. they only offer ones for the SUV's from 2004. basically they're telling me my car is OLD. hahaha.

had a nice mello drive to work this am.

Speak of the devil. not a bad fit for a cheap set. Too bad they don't have the bucket like walls but oh well.

the new rubber mats are stinking up the car a little but it's nice out today so commuted to work with the window down. haha. hope it outgasses soon.

the quality of the material isn't bad at all, and doesnt slip around... considering it was only like $80-85 shipped i consider it 'good.' im not a huge fan of rubber mats to begin with but these are passive enough that i will accept them.

my G usually runs Berber (carpeted) mats. they are awesome. looks great, very durable. but costs a little more.

woot. my car cover came in. it's the quicksilver one for my Z. each time i open the garage door on a windy rainy day the hatch and bumper gets wet so this will work very well to cover from blowing snow in the winter time. will do a test fit tonight.

a quiet morning commute and just relaxing pretty much today. i hurt my back while getting ready to go to work... i must be getting old or something (actually i need more exercise..)... it was a little tricky with the clutch this am as each time i release the pedal i got a spiking pain in my lower back/butt...and my G's clutch is not light. ouch... lol

this am i felt sorry for the guy driving some lux vert. from a distance it looked like a mitsu eclipse. i was like ' oh that pos that looks like a copycat GTR kinda face...' then as it approached it was not an eclipse at all. lol

got some t-shirts from my favorite MINI store as well. yah, i dont own a MINI anymore but i still like them a lot. they included a free magazine flier thing in my package and as i was skimming through it, it just reminded me how fun it was owning one several years ago. hahaha. ive been considering to get another one for some time just as long as they fix that spontaneous combustion issue. some MINI's burn up with no reason...and i cant have that as my kids' rooms are right above the garage.

Here's the new car cover. . Its a perfect fit, no issue over the Mines spoiler extension, fujimura rear diffuser, or ings+ front splitter. . Plenty of clearance for the craftsquare mirrors too so no issue.

After the test fit it went into the bag with very little effort.

i might consider one of these to play with as my future dd. i expect to keep my G for 2 more years but after that unless i can find a nice coupe i want around $40K range to replace her i might just change gears and get this + some mods and use the money i save on my future weekend car (after Z).

im hearing my online buddies around the north eastern US is getting snow already. hahaha. sucks for them but it just a matter of time for me as well.

going to wash the G tonight. car's looking pretty ikky right now. i hate it when it's windy/dusty and rains just a little to make dust rings all over the car. hahahha rather just have it pour and stop.

motored the Z this am was a great drive.

this am i was rudely awakened up by a frikken owl on our house's roof right over the masterbed room window. thing would hoo..hooo.hoot... then a few sec later some idiot owl across the field would hoot back. same frikken owl words over and over x1000. it was as so frikken annoying it reminded me of idiots talking loudly at the movie theater.
