drove the GE again today in slush. no issue. saw a ford focus in flames today on the side of the road. holy crap, hope no one was hurt... i wonder if there's going to be a trend of self-combusting focus's like many euro cars... yikes.

rain and thunder in january... wow, that is just crazy. anyway, most of the accumulated snow melted for a soggy ikky monday.

commute to work was pretty good after passing this dumb minivan driver pre-occupied on their phone. wtf, stop texting or watever while driving! the arse was driving like 5mph under the speed limit and drifting out of their lane, centered, then drifted the other way, then cented, then drifted the other way, etc. this kept going for like 1/2 mile before i just dropped my gear and stuck a pass.

glad i did cause i did not get stuck at any light after that.

they should ban celphone use entirely (other than for 911) while the phone tracks movement.

Cell phones should be banned... A stupid bitch in a minivan was making a call while backing out of a parking spot yesterday. I can spot those idiots pretty good or I would have been ran into by now.. Sorry that the weather where you are is so messed up.. It's beautiful here today, clear skies 61 degrees and a very light breeze... I'm going out for a drive... Sometimes winter doesn't arrive until April.

As much as I agree about the usage thing while moving, it would suck for people that actually use them properly. I hook mine to auxiliary and use Pandora and voice guided GPS at the same time on long voyages.

Yah, just stop the car and talk. That's the way it should be. Your state of mind is elsewhere and that contributes to the problem.

This am traffic was busy but thankfully stupid stayed home. it was a pieceful drive...unlike last night when some chick with apparent bladder problem tailgated me for about a mile. The more you tailgate, the more distance I need to keep in front of me, the slower it is for you till you get to the toilet.

cleaned the saltcaked G today using Griot's SprayOn CarWash. i was thinking about taking the car to the autowash (there's a nice carwash place near work) but considering the salt on the ground, not only would the car get dirty very quickly it wouldn't do much good introducing water/moisture on the salt that's already on the undercarriage...would just accelerate rusting.

so decided to do the waterless wash and keep her dry as much as possible until my next opportunity to wash her real well on my driveway.

the hard work last night cleaning the G paid off this am when i looked at my car at the office. she looked great. not perfect like how she looks in the summer time but very good for a winter look.

the main issue is i need to clean out the wheel wells come spring time. there's so much dirt/grit and salt caked on there i will need a hose and brush to wash that off. also the muffler (stock) needs to be washed throughly cause the matte black can is now like a salty gray color. hahaha...

i made sure the fender/rear quarter arches were clean on the back side. that's one of the first places these modern(?) cars begins to rust on the body. my G is 8yrs old so not sure if she is 'modern' any longer. hahaha. still new in my head. time flys...

Ken, if you lived around here the neighbors would think you needed to be on medication for OCD.... We received enough rain that lake levels are up and people are being swept off of roads by water on roads.. I didn't put my Fit in the barn after driving it yesterday and today it looks great... I may have to break down and get OCD in March. The local guys with sport compacts want me to head to a big car hootenanny in Houston..

Texascoyote- lol!

I just don't like to see my car all filthy. Dirty wheel well is like wearing dress shirt with yellowed arm pits. Lol. Discusting.

Kinda misty today... traffic wasn't bad. . Looking forward to my drive home.

If I was as flexible and not in pain so much of the time I would be keeping my car looking good as well... I do stay on top of maintenance and never have stained armpits on my shirts... Most of the time I wear black T shirts that I change when the dog won't come near me. I will be paying more attention to the appearance of my car in the future since I have it sitting higher off of the ground and the new wheels don't have the tires sticking out far enough that the sides of the car are covered with dirt kicked up on them.

yah, im not a fussy dresser either.

im going to be doing another round of waterless wash today after work. i had to drive my car in the rain last night. at least i washed some salt off the wheelwells from the splashing i guess. lol the good is it looks like my G's coolant is NOT leaking at the reserve hose. the level had not dropped at all sinced i added about a month ago.

TGIF!!!

drove the GE this am in about 1" of snow to take care of some errands. absolutely no issue.

cleaned my G using no-rince last night. also cleaned and conditioned the leather in my G's interior, updated the wall paper in my HU and did some minor checks like tire pressure, all fluids, inspected belts, hoses, suspension arms, etc. this morning. all looked good. there were really no aggressive signs of rusting so i was real happy. i touched up some paint chips i found on the frame last Fall which made a difference as there has no further spread. will do the same again as soon as they stop spraying that icemelt crap.

also checked tire psi and fluid levels on my Z. turned the tires since it's been 4 wks on flat-stoppers. im sure it can go longer since i have the tires overinflated to 42psi but it only takes me 5mins to do and can save $1200 in tires. yah, tires for the Z is not cheap.

also checked under the hood for any gnawing. i dont have mice problems at my house, but never know.

Indeed, squirrels are pretty violent. They even throw acorns at cars below that can dent the roof.

No car action today. Snowed a little this am. Going to be a wet week this wk on the roads as temps are going to be in the 40F's during the day time. Hope temps hold up to Sat so I can wash my cars....

It's still 71degrees with the windows open in my den.. I want it to cool down some so I can sleep comfortably... I may have to drink some whiskey or at least a glass of the old lady's wine in order to sleep.
