was looking at my carpeting and floor mats this morning before
going to work and noticed that it's starting to look pretty soiled
again. going to do another deep vinegar cleaning this Spring.

i suppose this summer im going to get some berber mats online
and use the a/s mats for the winter time. berber mats are
much stronger than regular carpet mats so even on MT cars
you won't end up with a HOLE in the carpeting from your left
heel. hahahahaha i use a set on my G35C and it's been
real nice to have.

you can order them from either griot's garage or autosport catalog.

My car started no problem. Did not even struggle. Sat was 9F, Sun was 15F, this am 5F.

Also wanted to point out that I had a great weekend (stayed inside all 48hrs), deaded to come to work due to many issues I've been having related to work. But motoring my FitS made the trip enjoyable and made it a better morning for me.

davela- yep, most definitely!

so today it was again 4F, car started with absolutely no issue and i had a good time motoring to work. im really enjoying my FitS's spirited driving feel. i think it would do very well in BestMotoring's Kakeyoro ranking.... hahaha.

tork- hahahaha!

hey, i got back from my biz trip in toronto yesterday. i have to say i am SO F-KING GLAD we (IL) have so many snow plows and salt trucks. man, toronto had maybe 4" of snow and all i saw were 4-5 snow trucks (no salting) the entire frikken day! i saw at least 10 spun-out cars off the roads into the ditch. even on expressways the roads were white... i saw ZERO snow plows on surface roads. good luck driving the shitty ZIEX912's in toronto in the winter. hahaha! imagine what could happen with say... 6" or even 8" of snow? lol

IL also had about 3-4" of snow 2 nights ago and by the time i got back to OHare, the roads were all plowed, de-iced, and completely dry. this is why i can still 'survive' with the Ziex912's, with the support of IL maintenance crew.

On a similar note, this just in..........

Illinois Tollway road crews are on standby with their trucks running.
Waiting in their opulent marble floored employee lounges eating Italian beef sandwiches waiting to be immediately dispatched to remove the

"Open Road Tollway Governor Rod J. (jail?) Blogojovich"

signs.

[toss me anudder Mountan Dew and quit hoggin all da fries]

The embattled and victimized (yeah right) IL governor may be just hours from being the latest IL politician to be eventually fitted for an orange jump suit.........

true story

.

hahahaha. crook or not, i think Blogojovich did A LOT of good for IL, so if he gets jailed i would be kinda saddened to see that happen.

btw, on the post above, i just wanted to comment on toronto's situation with snow on the roads. by no means im bashing my friends over there!!! i just feel for them having to have to drive in that condition. it is quite dangerous.

Hey guys, do think its normal that my GE is having a hard time starting. When I crank the engine, it sounds like it almost doesn't want to start but starts??

I like Blogo too, they are all crooked to some degree as elections are expensive. Loved his speech today.

Yeah, love Canada and my friends there, I got that out there type humor and I probably poke more fun at myself than anybody

it really depends on the temps outside and how often you run the car...and how long of a trip you do each time you take it out. if you are doing short trips the battery will have a hard time charging... try driving in a lower gear and keep revs higher if you are doing short trips. saves your battery, your alternator life, and your mid-pipe (exhaust).

hahaha. yah, blogo's recent media hype has made him sound like he's pretty innocent, but then again im sure his lawyers are telling him to do some of that so who knows.

yeh, toronto's a great town. it's almost like our midwestern lifestyle over there. kinda laid back, but yet innovative.

taking a day off today. kinda chilly outside at 11F, so can't really wash the car, but i think tomorrow we might get a break (34F)... which is when im going to pull out my hose and just wash down the lower half of both FitS's. i have a jet soap dispenser for the hose so i might use that as well. i dont foresee myself doing a full wash, but atleast get rid of some of that road salt!

4 more weeks and i think we will be in the mid 30F's average. that would be very nice. i need to take my cooper-s in for that (meaningless) OBD2 scanning emissions check in March...hope there's no snow/salt by then...

I had to go to Elgin, Addison, Elk Grove and Antioch today.
getting to be a thousands of wheel bending pot holes out there

By St Patty's day we are going to need massive O'Bama Bail Out Bux for patching.

Am I frikin Nostradamos or what?
All over local talk radio, they're talking about hurried plans to cover up Rod Blogo's name on the tollway signs. So far they are gonna slap on inmate#__
er plaza #___ signs. Like $15K to do all 32, and the guy who gets the contract only has to kick back $3000 into a special fund, in $100 bills delivered in a brown paper bag.

yah, some of the roads are getting REAL bad out there. before i pull out my hobby cars i need to go survey the roads. last thing i want are bent expensive wheels and damaged expensive tires. and my FitS will be my survey car BEFORE getting the new set of wheels this spring. hahahaa.

LOL on IL. Rod's name can stay on the signs. i can careless. if IL has $15K to spend, i would like them to fix the pot holes.

so today i *MIGHT* get a chance to finally wash down my dd's on the driveway.
hoping for the temps to reach 35F. going to pull out that washmitt on a mop
thingie i have from Griot'sGarage.

we still got a huge pile of snow in front of our house so i dont expect to pull out
my hobby cars anytime soon. i basically only take them out on dry days/dry roads
unless i plan to wash them. although do-able, 35F is not the temps i want to be outside
washing 4 cars. hahahaha.
