It rained some more last night here so I am going to wait again. It looks like by next friday there might be a stretch of a couple days with no rain or snow so I will probably wash the car then.

yah, me too. i hear temps are going to drop significantly today around 7:30pm
from 45F+ down below the teens within an hr or two so chances are all the
water that's caught in the nooks and crannies will freeze and nothing good will
come from washing the car today.

so, going to enjoy my free time inside the house.

yeh, it was kind of a biotch this am, but i managed to get to work.

the secret ingredient is that i carry a bottle of washing fluid in a large
spray bottle and use that to deice the doors and washier nozzles
when they are frozen like this morning.

some folks use hot water which is a HUGE NONO!!! thermal shock can
not only stress glass, it can damage the seals... plus, wat do you think
happens to hot water when it cools off after a few min in 4F? lol

the tires on my FitS was frozen to the driveway like some jetblue plane
in an icestorm. lol

Same here had about an inch thick of ice over my entire car. I let it warm up for 30 minutes but that wasn't enough I had to bust out the ice scrapper and some de-icer.

dang, mine wasn't nearly THAT bad, but it was a pita scraping that
ice off the glass. it was like cleaning off old burnt melted cheeze
from the pizza pan. lol

so this morning we had some serious blackice at the side-street
intersection leading to work. anticipating some ice, i slowed down
to like 12mph with some chapter11 Focus on my arse tailgating me to
take the turn faster. well, my FitS understeered like bambi on ice
straight for the median, but i still had time to think that i forgot to
bring my M&M's to work, wonder wat my wife's making us for dinner,
etc. before i pulled the e-brake to let the rear slide a little to get
the car back pointed in the correct direction...then slowly sped off.

i look at my rearview and sure enough, chapter11 was no longer
there. LOL anyway, live and learn guys. buy a Honda, run
EnduraTech coilovers.

yah, that's a good question... not too much...like less than $50.

already got it the Enduratechs, new stereo, steering wheel, etc this year.
maybe i'll just combine that with my other car's xmas presents and get a
cordless impact?

That not a bad idea. Maybe get something like some new interior trim if you like that sorta stuff.

man, with 3" of snow and a slight grade, ziex912 has absolutely NO GRIP.

a FR caddy accelerated faster than my FitS up the slight grade.
embarrassing.

Yeah summer performance tires are absolutely no good on snow lol.... When I first got my motegis it was at the end of last February when we got hit the hardest last winter. Lets just say the fit didn't go too many places after that.

yah, but these zeix912's are a/s tires.... i think the car is also
just too light weight.

anyway, if we continue to get this level of snow i think im going to
be forced to get some snow's. will have to see how it goes.

didnt have time to post this last night, but if you do get
stuck in deeper snow and your car just can not go up a
incline, try this...

use torque steer as your weapon. turn your steering wheel
all the way to the left. then slowly accelerate. tires will
spin but keep the rpm constant at maybe 2k-3k rpm depending
on the grade. give it a shot. this is the only time torque steer
is your friend. lol

if you can't get the car to move at all, check the rear and rock
your car back and forth to see if you can gain some momentum.

snow is a biotch on ziex912's and you get smarter. lol
