the car in the wet so it looks like crap again...well, not
that bad.

so today, i got some of that meguiar's maroon bottle
pos QuikDetailer spray to use as my lube for clay
as i always do.

i shouldn't say pos cause as a clay lube it does
better than Griot's SpeedShine for some reason.

and a gallon of washer fluid... so boring...

I am not going to wash my car really good yet. Chances are we will have another big snow storm before it stays warm.

That's definitely the only thing QuikDetailer is good for. I found this stuff finish fast surface enhancer at a car show years ago and haven't found anything better. If you're ever in the mood to try something new, give it a try. Weird part is it smells like Tidy Bowl.

I'm waiting till the rainstorm is over then possibly I'll take it to lucky's hand car wash or the good' ol self service wash... I already clayed and waxed my car like a month ago. Also used meguiars clay and wax, good stuff.

yah, completely agree. i think we're going to get some
snow at least one more time. i dont plan on any detailing until late March when temps average 50F or so.

QD my wheels so planning on just using wat i have
in stock this season.

yah, i like meguiar's clay too. currently trying to
use up my Prima clay and Griot's yellow mud.
the yellow mud is soft and very gentle to the paint
so it is good for my hobby cars where i have barely
any contaminants on them.

this morning driving my FitS to work was fun. traffic was
'just right.' one lane always open so that i can pass those
slow pokes picking their noses while talking on their phone...
and pretend like they're driving. lol

so this am roads were dry since raining pretty hard last night
so pulled out my G35C. last i drove her was back in 11/27...
felt real good.

felt werd as i kept looking left for the tach (FitS) where as on
my hobby cars tachs are in the center of the cluster where it
should be. lol can't wait to get warmer so that i can
put my summer wheels on.

was planning to pull out my MINI this am to go to work, but
being on a sleep deprived morninghead dozing off, and
remembering the last curbage i did on my BBS only like 10
days ago, i passed.

was playing with my room acoustic EQ with pink noise
generator last night and i started kinda late so finished early
morning.

no updates as far as my FitS... snowed on Sat so haven't washed or
anything. temps are still tad too low to wash on my driveway.

i might pull it out later on this afternoon to run a few errands, but
if not, wont probably see it until tomorrow or Tues morn when i go
back to work. Off tomorrow.

honestly speaking, things have REALLY SLOWED DOWN for me as
far as car stuff as am almost always in my music room these days.

yesterday i did end up going to the stores with the wife in my FitS. was a fun drive.

while i took her to all the stores she wanted to go
(i really dont do much local shopping), she bought me
a small display case to fit my DigiQ's at the
ContainerStore.

i need to make a 2nd level inside the case cause it
barely fits like 5 cars. i got 10of these little RC cars.

oh yah, some ricor in a STI wanted to race me. i dont
know why. he should know better my FitS's quicker
with me driving than him fumbling his rocketship.
so i let him go.

more work to do on my car this spring... got hit on the front passenger
side while coming home from work by some guy that made a turn in front
of me...and also severely rimmed my driver side wheel as i got pushed
into the median. im kinda amazed how the air is still holding. damage
isn't too bad.

if it wasn't for the garbage pos ziex912's i may have been able to
avoid this accident... my response time was good, but the tire and
brake capacity was just not enough and needed another 0.5sec in
order to avoid him. it was so damn close it pissed me off.

guy was apologetic... im going to take it into the claim center
hopefully before the week's end and get my check. i will fix it the
best i can. PDR will be pretty tough though on the fender, but i
think i can do it.

the list of damage:
front passenger side fender is bent, front bumper is scuffed real bad
with some paint missing, headlamp didn't crack but scuffed deep, front
lip is scratched, both front wheels need to be replaced.

so... not a good day but at least no one was hurt and my weekend
cars are at home in hibernation without a scratch.

this month is not a good month for me as far as car things... 2 weeks
ago i rimmed my BBS wheel... now this.

so sorry to hear about your accident!

It sucks when you try to avoid an accident but end up in one anyway...I ran into a trailer hitch on the back of a Suburban b/c my tires were bald...it was lightly raining...and the guy (who was in front of me) stopped for a yellow. WHO ever stops for a yellow light???? Not here in Houston...we run 'em!!

I should say right now, this was NOT my Fit!! Was my old Camry, and the hood crunched right up when I hit his hitch. There was no damage to his SUV. Grrrrrr.....

I wish you the best of luck on your repairs. And no more accidents!

thanks, Juliane! im pretty much over it now. im setup to take my
car in next week.

sorry to hear bout your old camry too. those damn hitches are
super stiff and does quite a bit to protect their cars.

even today on the way home, some chick in a civic almost hit me
again on the same side while she tried making a lane change without
looking. damn people!

not much going on over here today with the FitS. just
coming to work, going home in a couple of hours for
the weekend.

was a nice drive.

the bent fender is causing the liner to push in a little
bit and each little bump i hit, the tire rubs.

such a funny guy luv4jdm. for those that dont know, we got like
6inches this morning in the midwest. it was pretty bad. went to my in-laws
in the wife's FitSW with W60 snow tires. damn, the tires are awesome, i have
to say. car was gripping just as good as my old Legacy(AWD) with
a/s tires. very impressive performance in good amount of snow.

im definitely ditching those pos Ziex912's this spring, getting some
s-drives for my FitS on some new wheels (due to accident, i dont want
to re-use them anymore), and get some snows next winter on some
steelies.

been driving my FitSW (wife's dd) the last few days and it's been a pretty
werd experience.

meaning, it looks like a Fit from the outside, but it doesn't feel like it...? lol
the AT is one thing, but the overall ride height is so damn high on the GE8 it
almost feels like im driving a SUV. it's a monsterous little car, if that makes any
sense. and the stock suspension feels so bouncy vs my EnduraTechs on the
GD.

GE8 ftl..... Just Playn'

I never got a chance to drive one. Was going to go with my parents when they were looking for a new car because they were going to go with either an 08 or 09 fit or a 09 civic. They test drove a 09 fit and civic and came home with a civic.
