i think im going to slowly start fixing that pos wheel. i first
need to get some metal cutting wheels for my rotary tool.

i think that's enough progress for this week. hahahahaha.

next week i shall (not committing to "will") i shall cut off the
major burrage and smooth it down.

the following week i shall bondo the wheel to fix.

the following week i shall prime and sand and paint.

then repeat 3x for the other 3 wheels. hahahahaha.
by that time, it will be winter again.

hey, i picked up the metal cutter wheel for my rotary tool last night.

will do some shaving/cutting/shaping on the severely damaged wheel over the weekend.

so, here is a list of colors i can use for my SSM FitS's wheel
from Dupli-color:

1. silver (kinda bland?)
2. matte black (my first choice)
3. graphite (like gunmetal, perhaps?)
4. bronze (not sure if i like)

wat do you guys think i should paint the wheels with?

Matte black would also be better at hiding the repairs.

I was thinking more of what I would do. Trying to prep for shiny is more work and maybe more than it's worth for a wheel.

I went to the 2009 ATL Auto Show this past weekend. So many nice, new, and improved cars. I'm not in the market, but it would be tough these days to pick. I liked the Infiniti G sedan, EX, and FX. The Nissan Cube and Kia Soul are both cute. The 2010 Ford Fusion , Taurus, and Mustang are all greatly improved. The Subaru Forester was roomy and a decent value. The Pontiac G8 GXP was just plain bad a$$. So many cars, so little money and garage space.

The only car that still makes no sense to me is the Smart Car. To me a 2-seater with very little storage had better be fast and handle great. If mileage is your thing, a Civic hybrid destroys the Smart. Better mileage, seating for 5, and a trunk.

GAFIT- hahahaha, i was just kidding. no problem!

yah, it does take considerable more work to prep and
finish gloss. and considering the price of the
wheel, i agree that i shouldnt spend too much time or
money on it.

hey, glad you liked the new line ups at the car show.
ive yet to find a car these days that i want enough
to go buy. they are either too big, too ugly, too AT,
or just plain too expensive.

i too dont think the smart car deserve a 'smart' name.
my take is that it's for childrenless yuppy-ish or
wanna be a yuppy type mid-30's to 40's lower
middle-class dorks. but again, this is just my opinion.

if you're into motoring enthusiat's little euro car, get a MINI instead.

not much update for today. just driving to and from work.
really having a good time driving the FitS!

little OT...
got more gear coming in for my music room. just recently
got an expansion board for my keyboard and this week im
expecting an analog compressor that use tubes for the nice
warm/rich sound. cant wait to try it out. i'll be done
buying new gear for probably the rest of the year as far
as music stuff.

im going to get a few detailing supplies for my cars...
one main item would be Prima Hydro. it's by www.detailersparadise.com

it is a polymer wax as you dry spray that ive been using with
exceptionally EXCELLENT resutls. can use it on glass too
for that RainX-ish effect. will not smear unless it's super
humid outside anything will smear. you can use it on plastics,
will not whiten. you can use it on pretty much anything.

and it lasts 4weeks easily 24/7 outside weather.

yah, when used on top of Griot's PaintSealant, most bird crappage slides off after it dries on the car. lol

ofcourse that's when it's freshly applied and highly recommend
one removes bird crappage off asap and re-Hydro that area as
it can etch paint based on wat the dumb bird ate.

oh yah, on the way home yesterday in my FitS, 2 young girls
driving in front of me looked back, waved and was thumbing up
in my direction while stopped at a traffic light.

i wasn't sure who the gesture was for, so i looked behind me
to see if there was someone there.... nope. i look forward again
and one of the girls gave me another huge smile and a
thumbs up.

ok, ive never been waved or thumbedup before in my FitS so
i was kinda slow, but realized later that they were in a GE8
and was trying to signal me that we drive the same(?) cool car.

blahahahahhaha...

did not know such MINI Cooper-ish culture existed. i mean,
i dont thumbsup someone that has the same Dyson as me.

OT... my wife is a kidder...

so i thought i forgot to close the door to my music
room this morning before leaving for work so asked
my wife who works from home to check during her
break.

i dont like the door open because my little kids move
around A LOT inside the house and that means dust.
im not worried about them getting into my music room
cause they dont. i taught them well.

anyway, i texted my wife asking to check and she said
(knownly that it would bug the hell out of me) wrote
back 'yes, [honey] you closed it before you left so i
opened it and left it open for you.'

LOL!

hada very busy weekend.

sat- took out my G35C for a nice drive after checking
tire pressure on all 4 cars. just looking at the psi, i was
able to tell the temp outside. hahaha meaning, when
i pressured up last time it was 54F and when i measured
sat, it was 3psi lower...so, i could tell it was 34F outside.

the drive was super nice. cleaned the wheels afterwards
on both the G and MINI.

sun - SNOW! got like 2-3inches. so my
natural carwash turned into a sandblasting (snow)
clensing spa. but i was inside ALL DAY in my
music room so didn't bother me.

hopefully this coming weekend i can wash the cars.
