I was behind a black one with the whale tail spoiler on an entrance ramp when the guy took off like a funny car and was maneuvering through traffic while still picking up speed at an insane rate... That was in the late 70s and I have yet to see anything like it on 4 wheels.. He went over a hill and was out of sight when I had topped it. The sound was amazing too, certainly it wasn't stock.... I can't even recall seeing one like it, with very wide fenders and tires except in magazines... Funny how a person can remember something that was so long ago and happened so quickly and yet have to be reminded of crap that happened in combat that was horribly tragic or insanely funny by someone that was feet away from me at the time.

yep, i have very good photographic memory too. i have clear memory from about age 3 for things that facinated me (good and bad). i see photos from decades ago and i remember wat the air smelled like, kinda. fortunately for me i have not had to be exposed to extreme life/death situations as you have.

today not much car action, but will be doing paint sealant tomorrow am on the G. i did a quick QD and inspection yesterday to see how much contamination buildup i had on the paint. barely any bumps i felt so im going to go straight to my One-Step Sealant from Griots. it contains diminishing abrasives so it will polish the surface while sealing it.
i will use both my 6" and 3" random orbitals so the process should go pretty quickly. maybe 1.5hrs tops. before applying sealant i will do a quick QD wipe down panel by panel followed by a quick sprits of Griot's PaintPrep and some distilled water to remove the QD's wax and any previous wax left on the paint to ensure proper adhesion of the sealant. Griots mentions the sealant lasts a good season so I will keep enhancing it with Prima Hydro after each wash until next Spring.
hope to take some snaps of my G by the pm. taking tomorrow off as my kids are home.
ive not taken good snaps of my G using my DSLR yet.

Got done sealing the G this am. Looks and feels great. Only took about 2.5hrs including cleaning the wheels, wheel wells, and glass. That is super quick vs my usual 12-16hr full detail.
Will take snaps in the pm.
Lately I've been just tossing used 3" and 6" pads after using polymers as it takes considerable amount of detergent and effort to clean them completely. Will order more pads for stock in the pm.

This is kind of a test where I decide if I want to buy a winter dd or not.
Considering the weight of the car I think she will do somewhat ok with the snows.

Ill just drive backwards to work.
Motored my Z this am. Was a good drive. Had some annoying middle aged woman who can't drive bug me a little bit also a stupid landscape truck cutting across 3 lanes to make a turn almost taking me out. Obviously with the Z's akebono's no issue not getting hit by the truck driven by wat appeared to be illegals from mexico, but didn't feel like cleaning the extra brake dust. I blasted my horn at him cause it was a good opportunity to test them out.
the Mexican in the passenger seat even blared out something like ' chill out, you Z has a good brake, use them!' or something but i did him a favor and ignored him.
I was more amazed he even knew wat a Z was. Lol...

yah, luckily stupid decided to stay home for a change so i had a good drive this am in my Z.
QD'ed afterwards and cleaned her up real nice.
then washed my GE and cleaned the interior, did some touchup work on the hood. looks like temps are going to fall starting mid-week. i have more pads on order from Griot's so by next weekend i might do the sealant on the GE as well. it's got some nasty water stains on the roof. not visible unless (since the car's white) i wipe it with a damp towel, but probably best to polish that out while sealing it. need to do some rain-x on the windsheild to remove stains there too. not sure where my wife parked by it appears it got hit by lawn sprinklers. oh well.

a pretty calm commute this am with kids and teachers (?) having a day off from school today.
traffic was light and didnt see garbage driving around either this am. air was prefect too at about 60F.
speaking of garbage, i saw an old pos corolla yesterday driven by a bald ugly loser with political bumper stickers saying something like 'no to bombing iraq' 'with piece we can bring a difference.' cant remember the exact wording but it was something like that.
i have nothing against the first bumper sticker. i hate violence.
the second sticker...i agree that being pieceful is a great way to resolve many things. but looking at someone that drives around a pos car and even looks like a living dud shows no immediate credibility for how he can articulate dialog with an opposing country or any business to make his point across. for starters one needs to appear presentable. to me his 'piece' sticker sounds like he's just a lazyarse with no real vison, just relying on others to do the work for him. for that i say wth.
if you really want to make a difference in this world, start with yourself to get your arse to the bigger leagues. no, it's not the car you drive but you have to be presentable and convincing. blaring out words via bumper sticker is very irresponsible and for this, it makes you look like a bigger loser than you already are.
i think bumper stickers should be made illegal regardless of wat it says. it's distraction like loud stereo's. people shouldnt have to see it even if it's not offensive.

I will on rare occasion see a bumper sticker that I consider relevant but never on a late model high priced car... Kenchan, it isn't a bad idea to interact with some of those that you see as being losers.. The smartest, most knowledgeable man I have ever hung out with told me that he had never met a person that he couldn't learn something from... He was a trust fund baby that drove an old Volvo he bought for $200 dollars, wore second hand clothes and cheap sunglasses, bummed cigarettes, and as a single father raised a daughter that was licensed to operate a nuclear reactor at the age of 16. She was in advanced graduate school studying nuclear physics at MIT the last I heard, and like all of her schooling being paid for by academic scholarships she was awarded. I could go on and on about his life and personal accomplishments but it would take pages and his beautiful daughter was the one thing in the world he was most proud of... He died while doing his morning run in Bend Oregon of a genetic disorder that he had told me years before would be the cause of his death... He had climbed the South Sister Peak a week or so before and just had his 60th birthday not quite 3 years ago.

texas- i agree that you can learn something new everyday, but i dont need to learn from losers. hang out with losers long enough, one will also become a loser.
while it may appear as though i am looking down at losers, it is them that get into my daily routine that slows me down. typically losers are those that miss out on opportunity as they dont try hard enough or not sync'ed with the world. they just wait to be fed.
i dont have time to deal with people that are not willing to try something like they mean it. our economy sucks the way it is. most of it is due to losers not willing to make the effort to make a better life for themselves... and us normal middle-class folks need to support them by higher insurance rates, taxes, etc. that is what pisses me off.

It is those at the top of the food chain that have created a situation that makes it appear that people at the lowest end of the spectrum are responsible for the problems... They aren't the ones that decide who it is that their government (it sure ain't ours) is going to start a never ending war, like the war on drugs with or is responsible for removing the laws that have allowed a small minority to prosper from derivatives, trading short on the stock market, the cost of insurance, medical care, advanced education, lack of manufacturing jobs, and awarding no bid contracts to privatized corporations that incarcerate low income first offenders for victim less crimes... The news we receive is no longer news but biased opinions that instill fear and hate of people that question and challenge the status quo that has been manufactured as a means to funnel more of the nations riches into the off shore accounts of people that see the middle class as slaves too be fooled and exploited..... No offence meant toward anyone, it's just the way an old man that has lived on both sides of the tracks and has suffered, prospered and killed in war sees things.
