woot, lucked out in my G. it was raining around my house during the day, but barely sprinkled at the office so my G was clean.
and roads were dry on the way home. woot. so just did a few spot QD and cleaned the glass. hooked her up to the battery manager till next week.
when i got home driving up to my street, i saw this hot hatch and for some reason i forgot i parked it at the visitor lot this am down the street...
hahaha. i was able to experience 3rd person view. yah, the gunmetal 16's do look good. okay i admit it grew on me.
but i do need to put more decals on it as it's so comical looking i can make it look better, i think.
and i checked the Advans on my Z's nismo wheels. i realized that at about 2K miles into the tire, ive pretty much used up near half of its tread life so i think im going to just keep these on and burn through them this time and wrap RE11's next summer.
the advans stuck pretty well last weekend when temps were in the 40F's. next Fall i will swap to my WEDS to use during cool weather. so psi'ed the advans for the drive tomorrow.

motored my Z this am
, was mostly a good drive, but too many old people driving 5-10mph below speed limit looking at the autumn leaves. wish they would stop their pos cars and take pictures during the weekday during geezer hour (9:30am-11am) off the side of the road. they were holding back traffic and pissing off kids that needed to get somewhere.
hahaha.
was like being sandwiched between old folk in front = only thing left to do is die, and young folk behind = needs to pickup his date on-time or get his arse kicked. well, that's what it was like.

when i got back, i checked the Z but no bug splats so didn't QD. will do that tomorrow.
instead, washed both my GE's.
i also tried Goofoff on the DWS. since the RC car motorspray already did a great job cleaning the sidewall about a wk ago, no issue with graying or blooming (browning) tires even driving through the wet.
but i scrubbed the tires real well with Goofoff just in case.
Goofoff worked great for removing polish/sealant on plastic bits that turned white too.
will keep this in my detailing arsenal.
then pressured up the GE's 8 tires and cleaned the interior glass. on the '12, i wiped up the engine bay dust and checked fluid levels. also polished the exhaust tip of the tanabe as the contracted buttfaces that pushed out water from the sprinklers end of season at work put water stains on them.
then proceeded to remove a sealant spot i missed buffing off last week using the same one-step sealant. rather than bearing down on the paint to buff off the dried product, it's better to just re-apply the same product on that spot, and dissolve the old to remove.
since i had the towel and one-step sealant in my hand, i polished/sealed the metal plate frame on my G.
if you have chrome or black onyx plate frames, just use this stuff instead of metal polish. much less aggressive on the finish.

oh yah, forgot to mention... when i pressure up my tires during the day, even if i hadn't driven the car, the sun heats up the tires and gives inaccurate readings when i measure psi.
so first, i use a laser thermometer to measure tire temp difference before adding air. this will let me know if i have a tire that's leaking or not. then, one by one i add the same psi to the tire regardless of the initial psi reading.
so for example, with ambient air about 43F, one tire that was getting hit by sun measured 105F at the sidewall surface (internal temp is lower obviously) with 35.8psi, where as the others in the shade at that time were 49~53F with 33.4~33.8psi. this tells me the actual psi at 43F are about 33+psi.
considering temps are going to be lower and i like these DWS with higher psi than stock, i add 3psi to each tire so they are around 36+ psi at 43F.
obviously if you have a garage and do this inside or early am before dawn, no issue with these temp differences due to the sun. hahaha.

took my GE out to run an errand this pm... had a good time.
took a full circle on-ramp pretty quick, no issue with understeer even at 40F with DWS and no rubbing.
GE MT + swifts + dws = good stuff.

motored my Z this am, QD'ed afterwards. was a great drive.
i pressured up all 4 donuts from 4 cars to 65psi considering temps will drop quite a bit more during the winter.
then i proceeded to make the little clearbra protectors for the arches on my GE. this is to prevent kickup from chipping away at the front sidesill where it meets the fender arch, and also the rear bumper on the arch. i kept the templates so i will replace these every spring.
this pm, just relaxing.

wow, another frosty morning this am. it's like we only had like a few days of Fall and now it's winter.
hahaha. luckily was about 37F by the time it was ready to pull out to head to work.
anyway, pulled out my G this am for the commute. i know they're going to be doing the lawn today at the office, but i decided not much time left this year to motor my G, so to hell with getting some dirt and dust on the car.
plus, realistically speaking, time is winding down for me owning the G. next year will be the last full season of ownership. im planning to sell the car spring of 2014 on its 10th year.
at that time i will decide whether i want to save up a year for the next gen G (im thinking around $55K otd) , or check out possibly a BRZ STI version if such thing exists, or get the Abarth. im uncertain what nissan will do with the next gen G. the G37C is already more luxury than sports-driving kinda car so the next gen might be too refined for the kind of car i want. refinement is good, but these days refinement means a more numb and less 'car like' feel. for that, i suppose the guys that like VIP (aka hellaflush) makes the car more exciting to own. as a static model or a poster, that's fine, but i personally like to DRIVE cars so that's not really my direction. i dont like slowing down just for manhole lids or minor irregularities on the road... but then again, if there's no exciting cars out there, that might be something i might think about doing especially since this will be a car mostly for the summer commute.

looks like weather is going to behave for a couple more days.
which means more drive time for my G. hahahaha.
still checking out decals i want to slap onto my GE... i think i want to put more like a comical decal than anything serious. serious on the GE makes the car look rice... well, unless the bits on the cars are sponsored, i guess. and i know i have no sponsorships so.

Cool beans.
It is well. I feel funny coming over here and seeing your posts. It reminds me of when you break up with someone and then a few months later you see her with another guy. Know what I mean?
