The Husky seemed 'tougher.'

Probably better for the Mrs.

still deciding if i want to do a snow set for my GE or just sell the car entirely next Spring. the GK runs 15" snows so even if i bought just the tires for my GE (16") it wont fit.

Join some of us cool kids and get a Japanese GK5.

Not sure what you're running for snows now on the GE8 but if they can hold another season and you're really thinking about selling I wouldn't bite for tires as of yet.

yah, if i had a choice i would've DEFINITELY wanted the japanese GK for sure. on the GE im only running DWS. they do fine in light snow but was pretty terrible in deeper snow..

Ahh... I've heard that in places that tend to get ACTUAL winters that all seasons just won't cut it during deep snow. Never had first hand experience with this down in Texas though.

Are these the original DWS or the updated DWS 06s?

We JUST GOT our first pair of Japanese GK5s in not even 8 hours ago and while I did the Pre-Delivery Inspection on mine, there was a noticeable difference in how the factories actually prepped and laid things out for transport in both Fits we acquired. Everything was carefully set in place along with better quality protective products were used during shipping. I'm looking forward to see what the long term quality differences will be between the 15 and 16 MYs.

@Hootie, messaging you on FB NAO.

@Hootie again, I've always run all-seasons through winter.

But I made Mrs. 410b put snows on her GD right away.

nice! congrats on your new j-GK.

as for the DWS, i bought this set 3yrs ago so im guessing i have the old version. they do okay, just nowhere at the level of snow tires in deeper snow. i decided to just use the DWS this winter.

Thanks man! BUT It's not here yet... or even assembled yet. Still waiting on a VIN to generate and then I'll get an ETA.

Ah I gotcha, totally see why you are debating on holding off on snow tires now.

Can't wait to see what you think of them. I've heard good things and will probably look at them soon. I park in the grass at our house because it looks like we have a small used car lot here. Lol! I'm already getting sick of the dirt and grass getting smeared into the stock carpeted floor mats.

yah, i'll report back. the GK is my wife's car so i will see what she thinks of them too.

i can tell you already that the coverage is VERY GOOD, and the little tabs that hold the driver side to the floor was positioned perfectly. i had the dealer throw in the factory all season mats during the car purchase which are fine for rain, but we get snow and salt here so not enough for winter.

swapped the GK to snows today. looks kinda weird with 15" since they appear so small for the car, but okay for now.

also checked the psi for the spare as well. wife's GK is now ready for winter.

had like 6-8inches today, but the car did absolutely fine with the Blizzaks. just left the CVT in D did not mess with traction control.
lol'ed at others slipping and sliding and some falling into ditches

one thing i noticed while driving the GK today... thing's suspension is pretty stiff compared to my GE with swifts and DWS.

I noticed that as well comparing the GE and GK stock for stock at work!

To me, it doesn't have that crazy soft sofa feel like the pre-MMC (Minor/Mid Model Change) and MMC GEs do. More of an supportive yet mild feel that's fairly-encouraging for spirited drives but plenty comfy for daily use.

I'm rather curious how these GK5s will do with the Tanabe GF210s, a Ultra Racing rear anti-roll bar and some 205s... hmm.

If swift has a spring set for ur GK i would go with that. I had Tanabe springs in the past and they corroded to hell and feels unmatched to stock dampers.
