Thanks Ash. Yeah I've been looking at glass windows since thats what came from the
factory. Best price I've found is $375 shipped with new rain rail and 5 year warranty from

https://www.autotopsdirect.com/Mazda...-Tops-s/81.htm

Its slightly different from the factory 2 piece design but looks legit.

Gonna temp repair it and go from there. I think I'm just heated still from the whole thing. My 01 comes with the trunk release disconnect so thats not an issue, but I still am not confident leaving it unlocked even in front of our house. Sure I have a club/brake lock...and theres the factory immobilizer so thats nice.

Sorry to hear about the break-in, shinjari. I had that happen to me before, and there are few times I have even been so angry.

I’d probably replace the whole top, for two reasons: First, I’d assume that someone buying a used Miata was more particular than some one buying a used Sebring convertible, or whatever else. You should recoup the money sunk. Second, I would be angry at the asshat thief every time I saw a taped-up hole.

Sounds like you have some R&R planned for the weekend, so do enjoy!

got home, finished up on house chores, and used some Griot's Leather Care Spray to massage in some renewing goodness into my GTI's driver's seat. so easy to use, dries completely matte. no one really rides with me in my GTI (lunch we just take one of the company cars, weekends i usually just take the GK to the stores and restaurants) so the only seat that gets a tad dry is the driver's seat. the other seats looked fine so didnt apply it.

Yeah 9exponent the (3) times I've been this angry in my life have all been the (3) times my cars were stolen or vandalized. I'm a pretty calm and easy going person but dont freaking F with my cars man.

Kenchan I need to look into that product. Civic is the first leather car I've owned. I know I asked this previously but totally forgot which you guys suggested haha.

GAFIT that is indeed a hike. Safe travels, we all know how holiday drivers are.

yah, it's a super easy product as it's a spray. since ur leather is new, no other product needed. i spray in a MF towel and apply, rub it in real nicely and keep rubbing it until dry.. i only do this once a year since my car runs lluminar formula one tint, there is no other wear.

from experience, unless your leather is really worn, id stay away from rejuvenator type leather cleaners/conditioners as it can soak up the die. Griot's sells the regular Leather Care which id stay away unless your leather is really worn. I use it on my TUMI bag some times and wow my leather looks brand new again.

Very close...I'm about 2 hours North of ATL and my parents are in Jupiter, FL.

We always end up driving because of 2 things...
1. It takes me close to 2 hours to get to my least favorite airport (ATL)
2. We'll be there for 7 days and I like to have my car to drive

There's a great dragstrip (palm beach international) right by my parents house. Will bring my helmet in case I make some passes there again. Last outing the Lincoln went a 12.86. That's still what I consider my home track. Love that place. Probably have 200 passes down that track split between about 10 different vehicles and one motorcycle.

With regular trips to South FL and regular trips to Ohio, you can appreciate why I have a high power luxury sedan. It does a good job of gobbling up miles at speed without drawing too much attention.

Also going to bring some tools and car cleaning supplies with me so I can do the valve adjustment and clean up my Mom's 2011 Fit. It needs some love and attention.

yah, ATL is a huge airport.. that is one of the airports i use frequently.

the drag strip sounds like a good reason to take ur personal car out there. 12.86 is quick for a street car, both my stage1 STI and R are about that time, R might be at tad faster not sure. the DSG-R will do high 11's with a simple tune.

have fun out there in florida!

so today im packing up the GK to carry 2 trips worth of kids goodies to donate to good will. these are all new-ish clothes, shoes, toys, books my kids used but not abused. should be a fun morning.

was planning on doing a garage sale today, but it's too cold and i dont want my kids getting sick right after their spring break, so decided ill just give them some cash and me donate it all.

after that going to do some more house chores and then pull out my summer OZ set for my GTI. i had a chip on there from last Fall on one of the wheels and im going to see if i can mix paint to get it to the gray/graphite color. it's a 5x5mm chip so not a huge deal but want that fixed before i mount the set next week. can't wait to get these 19's on the car.. 18's are just too damn tiny in dark colors.

have a good friday everyone and a holiday weekend for those of you in the USA.

I struggle with this stuff. I hate Apple on a corporate level and don't like how locked up their devices are (no usb port or expanded storage options), but I like that they don't have as many issues.
