Just curious, why did they choose the civic?

This was my dads car and they liked the look feel etc.... of the civic over the 09 fit. They were going to just get an 08 fit but they couldn't find any new and all the dealerships selling them used locally were charging just as much or more for a used fit as a new one.

I feel you there, I was originally going to get a used 07 or 08 fit but it wasn't worth the price the dealership was charging. So I decided to get a new fit. I had bad luck with my 07 honda civic i purchased awhile ago. The civic had a problem wit starting, and also it stalled on me and it was a brand new car.

Well they also have a 06 civic hybrid and love that car too so I am sure that took a big part in that.

Ken sorry for jacking your thread for a bit there lol...

for older folks (not saying your parents are old fitcapo! ) the
8thGen Civic is a much more comfy ride than the 09Fit, that
is for sure.

i had a 06civic AT as my dd before the 08FitS and it was a
comfy car....the 09Fit reminds me of the 7thGen civic i
had... which was by far one of the worst bounce/bounce
suspensions imho out of the many civic's i had. i had a
90, 94, 00, 04, 06. 06 was by far their best as far as
comfort, but reliability was not that good. had several
warranty issues....dealer had to take the car in for an
entire week.

drove my usual GD this am. so nice. GD+MT+enduratech= ftw.

Ooo yes enduratechs are nice. I wish they make it for the GE. But I'm still debating either to get struts and springs combo or coils. Oh and srry for the thread jack ken.

wat for our GE's, huh?

the wife's fine with the suspension so im just going
to leave my GE bone stock. it's a great car for
wat it is and im satisfied with it....but i know it can
be further improved.

actually no, ive not heard of them. i dont usually tint
my cars so im not very familiar with their industry.
i got the FitS's window tinted by some local shop...
they only did a mediocre job so can't really recommend
them to my buddies...

with this economy A LOT of shops are going to close.
just not a good time to be in the aftermarket business
especially for sportcompacts. i think these shops
should convert themselves into sport compact 'specialty
repair shops' so that people like us can keep our cars
longer than usual.

for me though, my G and MINI are 5-6yrs old but
not really keeping it because of the slow economy.
i just like them a lot and dont feel like selling them off
just yet. although with my music stuff these days
ive really slowed down on my car things...

Don't worry they are older as in my dad is 56 and my mom 47. That is understandable because they cannont stand my car especially in the back seat now that it is lower. It gets pretty bouncy on the crappy round around here in the back and the front seems to be pretty stiff.

Yup ur right, the slow economy is not helping at all... I heard that another bad economy is on the way for 09. At this rate I'm never goin to be able to mod my car...

yah, ive seriously slowed down my spendings lately
on everything...

even a little 13ft $50 digital cord for my music gear
im kinda waiting until the very last minute to buy...
cause i might just re-arrange my gear and use my
shorter 3ft cord i already have instead. lol

anything that i can use or reuse or fix or watnot around
the house ive been kinda 'recycling' old stuff the last
5-6months. for instance, i have this kenwood stereo
i bought new 11yrs ago that i decided to use as our
DVD Prologic receiver instead of buying a new DTS
one. it's fine for now.

or re-use my Onkyo integrated amp for my stereo which
ive had since 1988 . switches/dials, etc were all
scratchy on the electrical contacts so i disassembled
it and WD40's the contacts. works like new.

so on and so forth...

that's why i was hoping to just re-prime/paint those
junk DR21's that are rusted ($25)...well, until i got
into that damn accident last week which took away a
good chunk of rimmage when i got pushed into the median...
now im kinda not wanting to reuse it and would have to spend
$450 or something on a new set of cheezeball wheels.

yah, i might get the cobra (dual 5spoke) in gunmetal
next time around cause they offer +45mm offset
in a 15x6.5 setup which would probably have better
steering feel than the 15x7 +40 im running.

i saw that rota made their homepage A LOT better
by adding filters for their wheels page.

yah, my car looks like a complete mess, but then again the crap covers up the damage pretty well (from the
accident) so it's OK? hahahahaha!

i need the temps to be in the 60F's to being the
PDR process on the fender and start polishing out
the scuffage.

i need to wetsand the headlamp lens before polishing it
too.
