Well

I can honestly say that if you bought a Fit or 2000 Auto Accord to drag all the time, you made a mistake on your purchase

I would ask a better question, which one can handle better or pull a faster time in a tight AutoX. I would bet on the Fit over any Accord model.

my mom has a 2001 accord sedan with the 4-cyl engine. it's still a lot faster than the fit, believe it!

I would guess that the fit will start falling behind after 3rd gear (40 mph) because that's where usually I feel the biggest difference acceleration. But then again, I don't usually rev to 6K on second gear so I don't remember how much more acceleration I would gain from that. I remember doing 63mph on 3rd gear at 6K RPM going uphill. There was plenty of power going to 4th, but my engine was screaming at me. But remember, the accords have the higher horsepowers, so they'll probably have advantage at the top gears. It's really hard to tell though.

My ex girlfriend's Corolla auto smoked me last night I closed in whenever the roads got twistier, though. They have a huge advantage in torque, IIRC...
