Vehicle Identification Numbers - Location by Car Make

I was trying to figure REALLY how old my 2 week Fit is. It still had plastic over the seat and all over the car when I got it. It looked like it came straight from the factory. I wish I could find out the exact manufacture date. Anyway, according to my VIN I'm not mistaking, I'm:

2008

Fit Number 41

Find your vehicle manufacturing sticker at lower rear of driver's door. Top line will have the month and year of manufacture at end of top line. Yes, you could have tghe 41st 2008 Fit. Since there was no real change it isn't significant.

And correct, you do not want to share your vin on the internet.

 

There should be a time and date stamp on the engine block where head meets the valve cover its possible that it can only be seen if the car is on a lift because the new honda motors rotate the opposite way the old b, h f,and d series motors did, but the marks should look like clock ticks. The first should be the year second month third week four day. if its not there but you do find some marks that look like that I guess the smallest # should be the year since its o8 unless it was made the first week of the month

According to the sticker on my door-jam, my 2008 Fit was born in August of 2007 and the last 4 digits of my VIN are 1818, so mine is number 1,818 or 818 or 18.

Not sure which number Fit i have but maybe you guys can give me better insight into what the correct number might be.

i have had a 2008 fit since november, chances are they have made more than 41....
or... do you mean they didnt make a single fit in all of january, feb, or march? until april?

 

My Fit is a 2007. From another thread that is long old, to determine what number Fit you have it was the last 5 of the VIN.

25,877 is mine. Is that wrong?

 

Ray's comments make more sense to me than the previous comments do.

If my 2008 Fit, which i bought in October of 2007, is number 1,818 then how is it possible that Super Mario's 2 week old 2008 fit is number 41?
