new 08 fit pricing?

hey guys im new here and this is my first post Anyhow im looking forward to get a new 08 fit S auto. I got quoted $17,699.00 OTD from Hardin Honda in ANaheim. Is that a reasonable price? How much lower can I get it for ya think? Ive also read a couple posts about the car alarm scams. what's up with that anyways. Did anyone have to pay additional to activate the alarm?

uuugh i don't know whether or not i should wait for the 09 hybrid model, considering gas will only go higher. Does anyone know when that comes out? suggestions anyone? Sorry for the 101 questions.

oh yeah and the mt sport for $16,828.00 OTD.

since he got it around that price
see if you can get 17000 out the door straight out

Goudy marked $18,300 on my NHBP fit

i made some BS about sticking to only hondas and how we always buy from goudy

and the manager said i could get it at any price i considered and we wanted 15000 for a MT VBP and they didnt have a MT version and said if i wnated it id have to pay 17,000

so i said F it i dont want it and so they offered the MT NHBP at 16000
so i told them since its not the color i wanted i would only pay $15,500 out the door and thats what i got

NHB was my second choice

=] im happy

I got hosed for a number of reasons, timing being the main issue, however i got a BOM 5mt with wheel locks, cargo tray and tint for 17,4k out the door which was a few hundred more than i wanted to spend. BUT...there were only 7 BOM mt fits in the state of cali. when i went to purchase. Sounds like the OP's pricing is decent. Always try and talk them down.

Yeah it sounds like a decent price for California.
Make sure to email every dealer around for a quote to make sure you get the best deal.
Good luck

Sounds like a reasonable deal to me.

I signed for my BOM sport manual last night. I think it was right at $17k otd. I am satifisfied with that price. There aren't too many manual sports in this area and even fewer that aren't black or silver. Most are selling within a few days of hitting the lots or like in the case of mine, it's sold before it even gets here. Mine was built on May 15th or 16th so it won't be here for a couple of weeks. Also, you've gotta consider taxes are different from state to state. It's 6.25% for cars here in Tejas. That can have a big impact on the OTD price variances.

They seem to be big sellers here in DFW as of late, given the lack of availability and the relative size of the auto market here. This is truck country and it looks like everyone is jumping on the car bandwagon now.

To the op, talk them down as much as you can; depending on your taxes, that doesn't sound like too bad of a deal. Just remember, the car is only worth as much as you are willing to pay.

I bought my 08 sport mt for $18,100 on Tuesday. Would have been $17,750 but NJ tag tax was way higher than floridas'...

I got my Fit Sport AT BOM for $17,4k OTD. It had floor mats, wheel locks and a cargo liner. I'm ok with the price, but I got screwed on my trade in

Quick question, when you guys say OTD, are you including taxes and all the warranty packages they offer (extended warranty, enviromental package, tire and wheel, and etc?

The quote that Anaheim gave you seems fair, but that is coming from someone who might have overpaid for a Sport SSM AT from Buena Park Honda @ 17.8k OTD (in early May.) That's with no floormats or wheel locks. Before taxes and fees, it was about 16.2k. The TMV pricing on Edmunds is about 16.4k, so I am not too disappointed. I'm thinking that they might have let me talk that down if I financed some portion. They let me pay part of it w/ a cash rewards cc, so at least I was able to get some $$$ back. BTW... the hybrid variant for the next generation fit is rumored to come out in 2015. Honda to Launch Three New Hybrids - News and Analysis by PC Magazine
