Fit Sport Security System Question

How do I tell if the stock security system for the Fit Sport is working?
What does the stock security system include?
How do we trigger the alarm? Do we activate the alarm and try opening the door?

Thanks in advance for your responses

The Alarm is triggered when any door, hatch, or the hood is opened.

To see if it is armed:
--There is a flashing Red light in the center of the gauge cluster
--If you arm it twice within 10 seconds or so it will Honk.

The above will not happen if the alarm is not armed (i.e. you left a door open)

The easiest way to set off the alarm is to roll down a window, close all doors, arm the alarm and then open the door from the inside through the rolled down window.

I have a Base AT with only the OEM keyless entry installed. When I lock my doors twice with the remote, my car honks. But when I lock the doors via remote and manually open the doors through an open window, nothing happens. I'll have to try this with a Sport.

Blaw I figured out why mine wasn't triggering half the time. I realized I must let the car sit armed and untouched for about 30 seconds before openning the door sounds the alarm.

So if someone breaks in within 10 seconds of me arming I'm screwed. Hehe

Cheers

the blink / honk is a signal for thieves to move in swiftly.

Not for the Fit specifically, but if you get the locking gas cap for the Element, it will fit.
