'08 Base Fit: RPM jumps when shifting into D?

Hey everyone. Like the thread title says, I've got an '08 Base AT Fit. In the morning, or after the car hasn't been driven for more than a few hours, the RPM will spike up to 1.5 when I shift into D. If I release the brake when I shift, the car will lurch forward a little before the RPM falls back to normal. If I continue to hold the brake after I shift into D, the RPM falls back to normal idle range after a second.

Anyone know what's going on, or if it's a serious issue?

Try leaving it on N for 1 second before going to D. It might be an engine warmup issue. Notice that when you start your engine, the RPM stays at 1.5K, and as the engine warms up, it goes down to 1K? I've noticed this also, especially when engine is cold. Just don't shift too fast between D and N and it'll do it less often. Heck...I even see it rev up to 2K when I shift between P and R.

Mine does this too if I put it in gear within a couple of seconds of starting it up from cold. No worries.
