Turn signal switch problem, flashes high beams

My 2008 Fit has developed an annoying problem in the turn signal switch. When I signal a right turn and the headlights are on, a very light touch forwards on the stalk causes the high beams to come on. I showed this to the dealer when I brought the car in for its first B1 service, he hadn't seen this before and when he tried to order the switch, he was informed that there was a long back-order for those switches. It seems that this is a common problem.
Has anyone else had this problem?

HAHAHA! I thouight I was the only one. It takes about two weeks of acccidentally flashing your high beams, but eventually you learn to be VERY gentle with the headlight stalk. It seems really really sensitive at first but you get used to it, trust me.

I've owned my Fit since March but it wasn't until recently that I have been doing this. Maybe I was doing it before and not noticing?? Anywho, nice to know I'm not the only one as well LOL

I have had the exact same problem. And it was only when I was turning right and using the right turn signal. In the begining I wondered why suddenly after a crossing I had high beams on. I got many angry looks from cars I met on the road.

After some time I found out what happened; the light touch forward to the handle when right turn signal was activated turned on the high beam.

I got the car to the dealer and he had never heard or seen this before but he could see the problem. They changed the lightswitch under warranty.

The dealer thought the problem could be from the new switch handle that they had installed when I got the car. They had to put in a new switch handle since I got fog lights. The problem was in the handle, and not faulty installation.

The new switch works perfect.

To the OP let us know if the new switch fixes your problem. For the rest of us, take it easy for Chrissakes! LOL

The new switch was installed yesterday under warranty. It works fine.
The first switch lasted about a year. We'll see about the new one.

Right turn and HIGH beams

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone know what part (part#_ fixes this problem?
right turn signal is very sensitive when low beams are on. Turn right and HIGH beams come on.

check to see if your car was included in the headlight stalk recall. then you get a free new one.

My 2008 started doing this about a year ago. Same exact thing, only with the lights on and right turn signal. I never had this issue on any car I owned.
