I have to say I drive in L.A. all the time and I don't get any more shit from people on the road than I did with my last car ('01 Civic Coupe). There must be some other factor relating to driving style (or maybe the brighter colors [the ones that look *cuter*] get more hate) that is causing certain people to complain of so much road abuse.

The most hateful thing anyone ever did to me on the road was cruise past me effortlessly coming off of a stop light in a huge truck while I was absolutely flooring it and shifting at redline just not even CLOSE to catching up. Most humiliating thing, ever. I should have known better.

 

yeah my female coworker called my car cute. thats funny that it happens to you guys too.

well at first i didn't like the way the fit looked when i bought it. but now personally i think the fit is cute!

 

Of course it's cute. That's exactly the reason why I wanted one in the first place.

It's not like being called "cute" is a knock on anybody's masculinity or anything, is it? People are so much more than their cars...

 

i had some ladies commenting w/a big "how cute" in parking lots. today another one asking me what it was and lamented that the Honda dealer never showed her this car. She just bought a brand new Civic hybrid, and she was salivating over my orange Fit, saying it's the coolest car she has seen and wanting to buy her daughter one too. I feel very proud. She didn't see the inside though. I am sure her Civic hybrid was at least a bit nicer inside.

The other day I was walking out to the parking lot with some other people, and one of the women I was with said "ooh, whose little Flintstones car is that? cool."

Flintstones car? What the heck does that mean? Do they think I drive it with my feet pushing on the ground?

 

i get the "cute" comment all the time but i have no problem with it. Because i also think its a "cute car. It looks small from the outside (compact), functional and gets great gas mileage.
If you really have a problem about people calling your fit cute maybe you've got some masculinity issues.. oooooh

depends on what part of it people see too.

i have to admit, i like the structural shape of the GD3 (USDM 08 here) but the front specifically is the dorky/cute part for me.

the part directly under the grill, in between the fog lights just looks stupid....i wish they would have put more plastic crosshatched grill material down there (like toyota did with the sport yaris and mazda does with everything....) and that would have added some aggressiveness

just look at the GE8 front lip in comparison. it's just sharper and meaner looking....i might get hate for saying this...but i don't like the way they changed the rest of the car.... the interior changes i'm totally cool with.....i wish the shift boot and M/T setup would have been in the past generation.

specifically i think the rest of the body looks silly, the back bumper is boring to me. my girlfriend says my GD3 has a "cute butt" which i am fine with..... i also do not like the way the GE8 tail lights are shaped. they simply look like a step backward from the sharpness of the GD3


i dunno...i think with the Fit it will never escape some sort of "cute" car comment, just because of it's design..

heck, my friend has a GTI, and it's completely stealthed out.... one time we were going up to autozone and this girl was walking into a tanning place next to it and she looked over and said "hey i like your car, it's really cute"

he got so pissed and was dropping f-bombs under his breath and i couldn't stop laughing.

 

I get the "cute car" thing every now and then too, I think people use that as a conversation starter. I try to not get offended by it, so I guess my reaction to the person saying it depends on my mood.
Most of the time people ask more questions about it and seem genuinely interested...about 50% of the time the next question they ask is if it is a hybrid.

 

hahaha! i think the gd3 is cute, but it looks kinda cool at the same time. the ge8, on the other hand, has a face only a mother can love.

i love my gd3. i plan on keeping it till it falls apart. i love this car!

 

Get cute all the time as well. But I think it's better to be cute than to be trying too hard to be "mean".

 

Being cute is a good thing. Much better than being badass. Christie Brinkley and Chuck Norris are still doing those Total Gym commercials, right? She is cute, he is badass. Which one looks more like the car you'd want? I gotta go with Christie.

I havent had anyone call mine cute, just ugly or that it looks like a loaf of bread... But this could be because i have a stock base model.
