I tinted my window and some questions

Will the tint damage my rear defroster?
When I turn on the defroster, will it melt the tint?

I have heard that the 3M brand tinting will not be affected by the rear window defroster. I am not sure about any others.

I have had tint on every car I have owned and the rear defrost has never affected it. You will not want to use the defrost for a couple of days to let the tint cure, it might bubble on ya after cure no problem.

It should not harm anything either way. Don't just ask here though... Call the shop who did (or will do it) and ask them if you should wait some period of time to ensure the tint job has cured properly. Not to mention double-checking the advice you get here.

CN: I agree with kingdlx.

How much tint are you going? I was thinking of doin the hatch and all the side windows. I would want a heavy tint on the hatch, about 80%?. What do you think is decent for the sides? 40%? is that too dark?

I went with the limo on the back 5 windows, here in Ca. you can only do 12% max light block on the driver and passenger windows.

What would a quality tint on the back window cost? I see varying prices and that's making me hold off. I see windows that have bubbled, but maybe that was a home tint job gone bad.

Question Speaking of defroster

Speaking of the defroster - how heavy duty are the window elements? Think they can they survive a little dog contact?
