How's everyone's gas mileage?

Hi all,
Hope those who have their Fits are enjoying them as much as I am mine and those who are waiting get theirs soon!

I just filled up my car after going about 330 miles with it. Got about 35mpg (mostly city driving). Pretty darn good! How is everyone else's gas mileage? About the same?

Angry Don't know what to think!!!?

I don't know whether or not to panic but this morning, after about 65 miles (105 km) of mostly city driving, my manual sport fit has swallowed an impressive amount of 24 litres of fuel....that's about 6 US gallons!!!!!!!!

That's the amount a supercharged corvette must drink.............

I don't believe it....the fuel thank must have a whole to explain such a high consumption!!

Guess I am ready for the bridge,

Metheny

HUH???? How? 24L in 105km? Did you have it redlined the whole time? That's about 4.3km/L. Fill it back up again. That's wack, there's no way you can burn gas like that in a 1.5L Honda driving normal, or hard.

Do you shift out of first?
Maybe you need the locking gas cap....

Are you sure it was 6 gallons? Is it possible that you only thought it was full to start with, and then filled it to the rim with 6 gallons?

Otherwise, I'm with the guy who says shift out of first gear. Hell, even then, I don't think it's possible.

you are either sitting in traffic 1 hour each day, or not gotten out of first gear.

my car drinks gas if i stay in boost, and i still get better gas mileage than that.

something is wrong.

Is this everyone's first fill-up? With my first fill-up, I only averaged about 29 miles to the gallon. Should I be worried?

Worried? No. Slow down? Yes. The tank from the dealer is never full to the last drop. See what your next 4 tanks yield.

Have not yet filled my tank but would guess that my gas mileage with my new Sport Auto will be in the low 30s (mostly in-town D.C. driving). On the other hand my son has filled his tank twice in the past two weeks of driving in upstate NY (non-highway but back roads with no lights or traffic). He got an average of 41.9 mpg for those first two full tanks. If that's what he'll be getting over the long haul why buy an overpriced hybrid? He's driving a non sport with manual tranny.

I'm getting about the same as you. I'm going to be filling up tomorrow for the second time. I'll let you know what I get.
