I did a lot of research too but I couldn't commit until I drove one. Logic got in my way. Then I waited on my financing and that put me into a seven week wait. It was worth it.

I am so shocked I can't even stand it. I get a call from the guy who replaced my crappy salesguy telling me it just landed! But he seems to be pushing me to pick it up today or tomorrow! I'm not sure I can! I might have to wait til Friday...unless I can talk my boyfriend into taking me tonight! EEEEK! It's here! My beautiful storm silver metallic base model is here!!! The crazy thing is, he was told it was coming in June 30...but then it just 'landed' today!!! WEEEHOOO!!! I'm so shocked cuz I was so sure I'd have to be a pest with these guys.

If it isn't in this week, it's not coming until end of July... will I have to wait 13 weeks?!

Got the call from the dealer. My Fit is here! Woot. Picking it up this Friday. Finally the wait is almost over.

 

Sent the deposit for the Fit I want... the internet sales manager says it could be three months before it comes in. Oh well, I can wait, my current car (that will be traded in) is reliable, and in three months, the payoff will be quite a bit less, which could help the numbers.

 

Congrats to everyone that got their cars! Mine -should- be here in 9 days!!

My sales guy at Howdy Honda called the other night to say they now have a production date for my Fit--July 18-20--which will mean an August delivery. It feels like a spot of light at the end of a 3-month long tunnel.

I went through Edmunds, and found that there were NO Austin dealers that had their internet sales managers there. Only Cleo Bay up in Killeen, so I'm dealing with the lady up there. She's nice, but I've had to tell her like 5 times I want the Sport MANUAL, not the Automatic.... hehehe.

She should have an ETA for me soon. Probably will be August or September, tho.

I said I put deposit down on the 20th of April. I got the receipt today, and it turns out I actually put deposit down on the 17th of April. 9 and a half weeks.

And I got screwed out of $220 (GST cut). But that's a story for Honda Canada.

BTW the car speakers suck. Even my PC's Logitech Z-5300 sound better. And needless to say, it's not even close to my Shure e3c earbuds - and this is coming from the ipod dock and not the headphone jack

So Phase 1 of The Waiting Game is finally over - today is the build date for our VBP Fit. We put a deposit on it exactly 4 weeks ago. And so we begin Phase 2...

Homer Simpson was definitely right when he said "The Waiting Game sucks, let's play Hungry Hungry Hippos."

 

I had a bad bit of luck when I got mine. It was 10:30AM and I was at the airport parking and the cell phone rings. Sale guy "Hey your Fit is in!" Me "Great can you hold on it for a week I am about to go out of town." Is 24 miles to many miles for a new car

 

I pass the Honda dealership daily on the way to work, and they have NEVER had a Fit sitting on the lot...ever!



How am I suppose to even take one for a test drive?

 

Got mine today. Ordered last week of May, so for all intents and purposes, wait was right around a month.

 

Got mine today also. 30 day wait for me. But well worth it.

 

I live in Houston and I just picked up my base silver Fit with no add-on yesterday three days after my deposit. I know there are several Fits in stock around Houston.

 

I put down my deposit on the 19th of May. I was told a build date of July 4th. Which was also followed by "that means the week of July 4th." It could be any day between the 3rd and the 7th. That's what the sales manager at Honda said to me. My salesman is actually a salesman at the BMW dealer next door since I refuse to deal with the Honda sales staff. I was completely ignored by them. It pissed me off to the point I wrote to the owner of the company. I tell you what, that got me service with a smile REAL quick! I bought my BMW from them and I tell you, the customer service is like night and day!

It's kind of funny cause all the guys at the BMW place were making fun of us for test-driving a "little Honda" from the BMW dealer but, the second we walked inside to grab a plate they all flocked around the car like it was the new M6! Funny stuff. We caught them all sitting inside the car and checking everything out.

Just can't wait to have it delivered inside the showroom at BMW! Should be a riot!

In case you're wondering it is Keeler BMW-Mini, Honda, Jaguar-Landrover, Mercedes in Latham, NY. All the different dealers are in seperate buildings right in a row.

Congrat's to all of you getting your new Fit's this week! I can't wait to get mine! Good luck to all with the new cars, and to all of us poor saps still waiting... May the Gods keep us sane and pray no postal workers are trying to get a Fit this year!

 

I put down my deposit on April 23rd and just got my Fit on Friday, June 23rd - So eight weeks! It was well worth the wait. I think Vivid Blue Pearl is the bluest color I've seen of any car on the road. I find myself taking longer, twistier routes to wherever I need to go.
