Nothing is official until I actually address her in person but "DARLENE" seems to be in my mind when my BOM baby arrives in a couple weeks.

I come from a long line of 'car-namers' in my family history...so I can't help it, it's genetic. lol

For example, my first car in the 80's was Mimi (the mighty Micra)...then I had Max (the multi/stanza), then a curiously un-named Nissan Axxess, and I'm now driving 'Xena.' And then there was 'Wally the Whale' (a big ole caprice classic station wagon) and 'Bugs' (yes, a Rabbit), etc., etc., that were all family cars.

Anyone else?
This is a fun question.

Of course I had no say in the matter as my wife and daughter named it "Heidi" but I choose to spell it "Hidy" - that is the name of the dealership we bought it from.

My two sons have called it either the "Funky Fit" or "Funk"

Yes we did have fun doing this !!

To name a Car or any other thing..

My Fit is named YOKAI litteraly from Japanese "bewitching apparition" and usually appear at dawn or dusk, since I work at night this is fitting him just right.

My first cars is named "Celebritease" because its a Chevy Celebrity, and I plan to change the front grill to a caddi...

My second car I never named.

I'm pretty sure my Fit is going to be named "Batty". People think I'm weird for naming my cars and talking to them. But they are sort of my kids.

SSM Sport MT - Ogden (Oggi for short!)

Our past & present cars:
1985 Mercedes 190e - Heinrich
1968 Volvo 1800 - Simon
1971 Triumph GT6 - Alex
1986 Saab 9000 - Olaf
1985 BMW 318i - Bernard
1984 Aries K car - JFK car
1971 Lambretta scooter - Luciano

We name absolutely everything! This always results in us getting far too attached to every vehicle we have ever owned & makes it hard to part with them in the end!

I hadn't thought about naming it that usually just comes in time but right now I would have to go with "Fang". See Avitar

Mine's Name is Algore.

...yes, named after Clinton's VP because of his An Inconvenient Truth book and movie.

One of the reasons I bought the Fit was to get something more economical and less poluting. The EPA's 'Green Vehicles' guide (http://www.epa.gov/greenvehicles) shows it as an EPA Certified 'SmartWay' vehicle saying "Vehicles that receive this designation are very good environmental performers relative to other vehicles."

Now, if only I could get my wife to do something about her TDI VW Beetle!

Algore is a SSM Sport MT, Delivered on 10/6/2006.

My mom named my car for me and it's just stuck. It was parked in the driveway next to her Volvo 740 wagon and she said look at the Baby Car ('cuz it looks so much smaller than her wagon). So now my Fit is known as Baby Car.

My LMM MT is named Xena, after the dwarf planet that led to Pluto's demotion from planet to dwarf planet status. The new classification actually happened the day I picked her up, (8/24/06) and I heard the story on NPR as I drove home. As I moved my trusty old '87 Toyota Tercel wagon out of the garage so the new car could use the space, both vehicles received their names. It was nearly automatic.

anyone named their fit?

who has named theirs besides me?

well, as this is my first brand new car, i felt it deserved a name.

soooo here goes, and you will only understand this reference if you've seen the cartoon Invader Zim, i have named my fit...

ULTRA PEEPI

(it was the kids' class hamster and it ended up being 50 feet tall and even though it was destroying the city everyone was screaming about how cute it was)

because every time i see my fit i yell about how cute it is, my boyfriend was getting annoyed and said "just name it ultra peepi and be done with it."

heh
