Heh, I was there driving through Big Sur the 23rd! The PCH is wonderful!!! The Fit carried all our stuff for a 2 week holiday (and the set of Konig Heliums I picked up at C2 Auto) and was still a HOOT to drive along the coast!

I wish I lived closer!!!

We were there on Sunday afternoon, just after we picked François up from the dealer (Val Strough Honda in Seaside). On the way down we saw two other Fits coming the opposite direction on Highway 1 through Carmel, which was more than either of us had seen in the Monterey area all year.

I was really pleased with how well the Fit...er, François handled the curves and the grades along the coast. I knew the car was good, but that drive proved to me the Fit is a keeper.

Yeah, the Fit seems incredibly roomy. It compares favorably with my 1986 Honda Accord, and I even have more headroom in the driver's seat (and I'm 6'2"!). We haven't yet loaded it up for a long trip, that'll likely happen in the summer, but I have no worries about its capacity.

And, heh, it's quite nice to live so close to the coast, it was just a short half-hour drive down to Big Sur for us. It seemed the best place to take our first pics of François!

man bummed that i missed another fit, i get a kick outta seein em, recently saw a blaze orange parked in my local safeway, wanted to say hi... wonder if they lurk on here to?
i folded down the two rear seats and loaded up some camping gear for my girlfriend and her friend who went camping down at pfeifer, they needed some fire wood on a saturday night so i decided it'd be a great drive regardless, love highway 1, cept getting stuck behind people who insist on driving 25, lil bummed bout that but you're right about the fit, it is a great drive on windy roads, if you're ever up north in the south bay, try going down highway 9 to skyline, big windy mountain road for miles. pure joy.

My name comes with a story. My first car was a Nissan pick-up inherrited from my grandfather after he died. For some reason, unknown by anyone in my family, my grandfather had put a Tweety sticker on the tailgate and my father refused to let anyone take it off cause he figures if his dad wanted it there we had no buisness taking it away from him. The truck just became The Tweety Mobile. Well two months ago I totalled the Tweety Mobile, but working my ass off the past year enabled me to replace it with a brand new Fit. If Tweety dies whose responsible? Sylvester of course! The sticker is sitting on my coffee table and will be the first addition to my new car when arrives this week

I love how your camera made the Fit look like it's painted Electron Blue Pearl. I love that color... we have a Civic Si that's EBP... It's beautiful on the Fit as well... But for now I'll keep it VBP.

Hahaha! I was talking to my mom about naming my car. It's white. So I was thinking "it's white, short, squatty, cute..."
And my mom says to name it after "that little robot from Star Wars."

So we may be going with R2-D2. I was wondering if anyone else picked Star Wars names.
But I was also thinking of the Storm Troopers, because they are white. Most white SUVs from the back remind me of the Storm Troopers. Artoo is shorter, and is more of a name, though.

Yay for cars named after Star Wars!

Can you believe I took those with my phone? I was so anxious to get pics up here to show everyone I figured I'd just snap a couple quick w/ my Treo and get nicer ones with the camera later. After I synced em onto my computer and looked at them I was amazed how good they looked! EBP or VBP, I am LOVING the color! It especially looks good in the evening, seems to almost glow, and now I have my uber cool neoprene seat covers to match!

Love your seat covers! Where did you get them and were they very expensive? Did you cover the back seats also?

Seat Covers

Hi Cat,
They were about 165$, got them from Cover King through Costco. You can go to costco.com and type in Coverking to find em. I only did the front seats for now because I am keeping the back seats folded closed in tall mode pretty much all the time and keeping my bike in the car. I might eventually get the back seat covers too though, am VERY happy with the quality and style, they are custom made for the Fit and have openings on the sides for the airbags and all the knobs etc. Love how they make my baby look like a little race car! :-) And you can throw them in the washer if they get dirty, perfect!

And today my meter visor panel in blue came, so I am going to install that tonight. I'll eventually will have the leather shift knob and wheel cover and switch plates in the blue too (putting those all on my B'day list!) ! Then I will have the coolest lil Fit in the area! Then, more pics! Promise!
Kitty
