Yup, it was a great car to sit in!
I thought BMW had a different slogan. "Great car to sit in" seems to have lost a bit in translation. Fit uses "great car to nap in", to each their own.
Buy the BMW and start partin' out your fit.......we wait wallets in hand.

Every time I start thinking about driving around in a $40k car, I watch someone run a red light or smash into someone's rear end. I love my Fit, and while I wouldn't classify it as disposable, it just doesn't pay to have anything high-priced around here. People are idiots, and I wanted to kill the first person who scratched my Fit...Lord knows what I'd do to the first person to send a rock onto my BMW's hood. Good luck, though!

Honestly, I just can't justify buying a BMW. Dad and I went to go check out the dealership, not one person came up to greet us or help us after waiting around for 10 mins. Poor service...ridiculous...I think he's going to end up getting a Miata haha

BMW dealerships are kinda wierd like that or atleast from my experience with them. I love the cars but the dealerships are kinda hard to get figured out and to get what you want out of them. Im sure you have seen some of my posts about tracking down super cars and getting up close and personal with them but i have a method of how to do it. The only way your gonna get taken care of at BMW is to walk in there like you own the place and straight up tell them what you want. They are not high pressure like most car companies so they wont come out and talk. They let the cars sell themselves. I dont know what to say about them greeting you though. I have never experienced that before. Maybe that dealership is just sour or something. If your gonna try it again PM me and i will give you all my knowledge on getting the keys to some high dollar cars

Yeah this has been happening to me now at Calgary dealerships, the worst offenders so far for me have been Heninger toyota and the Dodge dealership on Mcleod (not Tower, the one closer to downtown).
I am surprised about BMW, I had a friend who went in to buy an Infiniti G35 a few years back and he got that kind of treatment. So he went across the road and picked up a BMW 325i.
It seems like in Calgary you almost have to make an appointment for these guys to pay attention to you.

When I worked at CMP in the used section, hell even I asked if customers needed any help when the sales guys were busy. They were always on the ball looking for a sale. I'm really surprised at how stuck up some of these dealers are. The one I went to was the Crowfoot BMW (The Gallery I think). The Lexus dealership in the NE was by far the worst a few years back. They gave us that "you can't afford any of these" kinda look...bought a G35 instead lol...
Damn bro im sorry to hear that. I wouldnt have figured that they were just sitting there ignoring everyone. I guess that they are just a bad dealership then and if the lexus dealership is doing the same thing i would have to say maybe its the area that is driving the terrible customer service. I guess that you would have to make an appointment like sugarphreak said.

yeah it's really disappointing with these high end dealerships. The Mercedes dealership is usually on the ball and will help someone as soon as they walk in, or at least greet them. Same thing with Mazda, albeit the lady had absolutely NO idea WTF she was talking about...we did eventually find someone who did and helped us out. The Miata is looking like a winner, 60mo financing at 0% interest
Damn sounds like a winner to me too. haha. God that really sucks that the other dealerships suck so bad. It sounds like quite a chore to go car shopping up there. I hope it doesnt get that bad down here.

Yeah it shouldn't be so difficult. I was really looking forward to convincing my dad to get the 1 Series, but this debacle at the dealership leaves me to wonder how they will treat you after you buy the car...will service suck as much as sales? In the end, I'm probably going to push him to get the Miata GS w/ PRHT! Mannnnn that will be fun to drive around in!
BMW dealerships are the way they are because of their customer base. Most BMW owners are hard core BMW people. They do all their shopping on the Internet or through friends and then call or stop by and order the exact car they want.
I think most potential BMW owners will come in and order the car they want, but there is going to be a lot of lead up time to it in research. Part of that research is going to be casually stopping by the dealership to check out how the car fits, test out the feel and visibility and possibly how it drives. I don't believe any BMW owner sets thier hearts on a car without a test drive.... the purchase of any performance car has a lot of emotion attached with it.
The unfortonate part of this is that the dealers here don't recognize this as a buyer, they see it more as an annoyance of people coming in, wasting thier time and then leaving.
Somebody gives me a cold shoulder during my research and it is unlikely I will come back. I could understand if they were so busy they just didn't have time to come talk to you about it, but when there are 3 or 4 salespersons standing around chatting and they make eye contact and then turn back to keep chatting it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth.
I agree and disagree with your statement on this,
