I'm almost sure that someone can make one for ya. The Mugen one is held on by I think 6 bendable metal fingers. You can either take off the whole console and push them inwards to lock it in or you can do what i do and thats just push the leather down a bit and then kinda get your finger and the boot behind each clip and bend towards the center. Basically all you would need to do is to get the diameter of the circle where the boot is attached and the diameter of the shaft. Someone who can stitch nicely can easily make one to your specs and all you'd have to do is make a simple method for it to lock in like the Mugen one. You can probably fab one out yourself with some thin metal that you can probably get at a hobby shop or craft store. Fab it into the cylinder, then you can make some of those tabs using more of that metal cut into smaller strips and just bend it around the cylinder as a mounting point...

I don't think I made much sense on how to do this, but it is all in my head...I'm an engineer so it's probably more complicated than it has to be...or just my description really sucks

The MOMO one is mucho cheapo.. aboot 1/3 the cost.. eBay Motors: MOMO Shift Boot Corse Ultra Black Leather - New (item 190134440409 end time Jul-29-07 18:24:04 PDT)

I have a momo knob that I got as a gift so I think I am going to order this boot..

Sorry about the grammar... it's been a long day at the office..

lol, Nice idea, but I doubt it will work If you seriously want to try it out you can borrow my Skunk2 kit when it comes in.

Why do you think that this won't work? From my Mechie background, I can't seem to see any fault with this idea. The housing is the same and the only real difference is those risers and that extra attachment. The bottom of the Mugen one is the same as the stock one, so I honestly think that this is a feasible idea. The Mugen one shortens the upper shaft while the Skunk2 one raises it up and extends the bottom, so it should be the same. I think this would be most beneficial for YeeFit since his Momo knob is countersunk and super low

And welcome to the forum ZOOZIG! What colour Fit do you have and what area are you in?

Not entirly sure how the Mugen one works, but I thought it shortens the throw by both changing the actual assembly and shaft.

Wouldn't you end up with a gear location mis-match if you forced the skunk2 SS onto it because it is supposed to match up with the stock assembly? Not entirly sure, but I think it would have a goofy feel to it.
Anyway, it sounds like a pretty cool idea to try out, if your right you will be a Fit hero with a sweet mod idea like that!!

Hey Welcome ZooZig!
When did you get your Fit!

funny you would suggest such a thing as my wife and i were just discussing making one...i can get better leather, some fine red stich, have a great sewing machine...and i have an integra type R one i can get the finer details from..will be working a patern and see what i can come up with...of course, before i do this i will check out the Momo one Yee Fit has sugested, and that may be it. i did find out today a Type R Civic one may Fit the Fit...thanks all.

Any round base one should be fine...just not sure how you would mount it...

So I managed to get my springs in yesterday, but when I took it out for test run it sounds like the sway bar is banging something on the driver side

Don't really know what is up with that, going to pull it apart again today and see exactly what the problem is. I have to pull the front plastic inner fender anyway, there is major rubbing on it.

Oy that's not good...how does the suspension feel? When you hear that sound, does it get stiff real fast? When I got the T1R coils, I had a problem with my tie rod sitting right up against the sway bar which caused it to have no suspension at all. That might be your problem.

BTW I wanna see some pics of those Skirts!!!

I think it is just some minor adjustment I need to make with the whole front end jacked up so I can relieve the stress from the sway bar. The suspension is behaving normally, ride is noticably more firm.

good news, it only took 5 minutes to fix the banging noise Something really stupid that was overlooked

So I started to take the inner fender out and it looks like the headlights and other components (also my air filter) would be directly exposed in the wheel well. I guess I will take it in and have the fenders rolled instead to get rid of that nasty rubbing. Lucky for me ZERO rubbing in the rear under the most demanding loads and bumps!

I am running a 205/40/17 +45p offset. Although I am utterly convinced my rubbers are not to US spec and are actually larger than they should be.

i think a 195 tire would be perfect, or do a 205/30, otherwise a roll is most likely the fix...but how would you mount the inner fender?

today just a couple of very very very minor rubs with 2 people (heavy load..no jokes please) on some crazy bumps at aahhhh, speed limit...whereas when i first got the springs i had rubbing & thumping all over all the time..so in 2 weeks you will see things firm up more as the springs settle..

so you know, your tires will squeal before the chassis gives up..something to keep in mind..enjoy the ride!
