Here's my estimate of how much this project would cost me with what I would like to do:

1991 CRX Si with no engine: ?????
B16A Swap with LSD trans: $1900 + SH
Engine Install: $800
Civic EX 4 lug wheels: $400 (with tires from a salvage yard)
Tint windows: $200
New paint job (a OEM Honda blue like VBP): $1000-ish
Tanabe Medallion exhaust: $660

Total estimate: $4960 + cost of vehicle itself.

I left the car price out because I don't know if it will cost anything yet or not (trade, or I may have to buy). I know I'm not spending more than $600 on a CRX with no engine or trans, so maybe $5500 for the total project. Less if I go with a D series engine that I could have a local mechanic rather than a tuner shop drop the engine in. How do my estimates sound?

Yeah, that was just the MSRP on Tanabe's site. I'm not sure that the B series would put down so much power that a brake/rotor kit would be in line. Maybe some quality pads on the stock calipers.

look for the greddy exahust or the rsr exhaust. most of those tanabe's are round canisters and look like poop.

The brakes are optional but you really dont need to run a upgraded kit, stock pads and rotors are fine.

I was thinking about tossing in some new seats. Maybe the blue ones from Megan racing (same name as my GF! Personalized seats FTW!), but I dunno. The interior is good in the car, but 18 year old seats will start looking rough before too long.

Really? I guess you get what you pay for. The Megan seats were only like $250, so I guess it makes sense. I know someone who will be disappointed though. Lol.

No sir! Don't have the shell or cash yet. My debts should be paid off in a month, then when taxes some in the motor will be closer to being had. Maybe if getting this CRX falls through I'll save up and buy a motor, put it in the garage and then wait for that miracle chasis that's not been messed up to fall into my hands. May be at the owners house today visiting his uncle, hopefully I can take to him.

I have about 3k rolled into my 401k account that I can borrow against (then they just take $20 a check to pay it back), so I might grab that to speed things along.
