I finally got to ride the karts at MSR for the first time yesterday. I had a freaking BLAST!! Went with a couple of friends and ended up battling a skinny little dude I race with. For having a 120lb weight advantage, he couldn't pass me!!

I toped out at 36 mph and had a best time of 1:09.89

Once you put down five consecutive laps of 1:09.00 or better you can move up to the next size karts.

So that's were that place is. I couldn't find that place at all and thought it was within the actual town itself. Whenever you're back down this way feel free to send a shout. I know of a fun road or two out here.

Bah, I overslept. I so want to bring my 150CC Carter Talon out there after I get new intake couplings and either 8, 9, or 10 gram roller/sliders when the drive belt breaks as well as possibly a 28 or 30 MM Mikuni carb.

I've been sleeping really goofy hours a lot lately. Some days I get 2-4 hours naps and others I'll sleep 8-10 hours. [sarcasm] Its fun stuff. [/sarcasm]

I have problems with sleep and am frazzled pretty bad right now myself... I see you are messing with weights, rollers and more... I have a couple of scooters I need to play with some more before I can ride them and love the CV belt drives. I hope to be able to alter them the same as you have on your machine... The problem on one of them is that they mount the gas tank lower than the carburetor and put a vacuum pump like those on 2 cycle chainsaws and a 4 cycle engine doesn't have enough vacuum at higher revs and throttle positions... I have a small electric fuel pump to take care of that problem. It has a 256cc Yamaha clone engine and belt drive.

I hope that the fuel pump solves your problem. CV belt driven machines can be set up to be crazy awesome with the right roller/slider and sprocket combo. On a machine with a 256cc engine, I can only imagine how torquey it would feel with 12 gram roller/sliders and a 32 tooth sprocket. I run a setup pretty close to that now (roller/sliderweight might be higher) and that 150 will book off the line...until like 25ish MPH and then it bogs out. LOL

Need to get new couplings for the intake soon because they are about 5 years old and cracking from dry rot. Around Spring Break, my last engine decided to drop a valve and since then its been a royal pain getting the kart set up right with the new engine. Here's a picture of the piston.

YouTube - Coupons

^ Here's one person that I know of that pronounces it like that. Gotta crank up the volume to hear though.
