Going to fill them with something solid
Possibly if you were local, the prices listed are pretty much what I'd pay WITH my employee discount before tax.

ninja 250 is an awesome daily driver. gets great gas mileage, not too aggressive ergonomics, mine is just a beater to me, but ive owned it longer than any other bike.

with a motorcycle, learn how to turn first, get some confidence, drag your knee on a ninja 250, then step up to a bigger bike.

That's exactly my plan, however the one I'm going to go look at this week has had those ergos changed a bit:

2000 Ninja 250

^^ Is your intake manifold one of the original batches or the "updated" reinforced models?

ill sell them to you cheap. like 100 bucks plus shipping for all 3. the vibrations arent bad until you get over 3k rpm. makes driving on the freeway and having a conversation next to impossible, but the engine is completely connected to the car and you can feel the difference in the way the car handles and how it sounds. the vibrations and noise that the engine mounts make the car sound and feel like its way faster than it really is.

Guy with the 250 called back, looks like I'll be going to look at it tomorrow night and if things check out, taking it home this weekend. (Can't fit a motorcycle in the back of a Fit and I ain't about to ride in a motorbike in the snow.

Is the view through the rear view mirrors distorted at 3k RPM? How is the vibration at 4k ?

I'm hoping its just a standard 250 except with rad clipons/rearset.

Buying the bike/helmet/jacket/boots/glove is going to kill the Pay off the Fit fund and set back picking up an IS300, but whatever.

It gets expensive.. I have over a $1200 in 1990 dollars spent on a heated riding suit, Hien Gericke Paris Dakar leather coat with GoreTex and a zip out reflective liner.. The old Harley style black leather jacket is the best thing to wear though. Mine is 30 years old.. Good quality leather is a great investment.. The only motorcycle boots I've ever owned other than for off road racing are police boots I got when escorting funerals and wide loads in Dallas/Fort Worth in the mid 1970s.. We rode Electra-Glides with tank shifters and foot clutch... I can get a good deal on a new Triumph and the Speed Triple R is very appealing.. I don't think I can handle a long ride on a bike with such a limited amount of suspension travel... Two wheel heroin... Wait and see.

motos are more fun than cars anyways. if the bike is junky at all, just walk away. its not like its a rare bike or anything.
