The Post Whore Thread V.2
That AP2 you got is so damn nice. I can tell you took some time finding it. Either that, or you lucked out.. or you paid a lot.
I always have my eye on the used S market.
How does the Fit stack up in driver feel and handling now that you are in a real performance machine? When I drive fast cars, my Fit feels like a sponge afterwards, but I have stock suspension still. Have fun with it!!! Lucky!!

Not to nit pick---it's an AP1 with an ap2 front end (sans headlights)
Hehe... I know you can't tell from the pics.
It was a friends, so I picked it up for a "fair" price especially considering what it has on it. It needs a few maintenance things and a rattle I want to fix in the convertible area, lol rattles kill me. But man, when you hit vtec you kind of forget about the rattle, lol. I am hoping to get an exhaust this christmas to really make me forget about it.
The mileage is high at 123K but I have a honda mechanic friend that has seen multiple s2k's running 200k with just maintenance. I'm stoked. I mean, I only drive 12k a year so even in 3 years it'll only be at 150k. And the previous owner wants me to sell it back to him later, haha!

Ha! Fooled me, although I wondered about the red interior, which I thought was on earlier models only. That's a good thing though. The AP2 is a nicer looking vehicle. AP1 might be more fun to drive.. so I'd say you got the perfect S--best of both worlds.
Not yet Chawee. Just ordered/picked up some more goods the other day and I'm going to put off installing them until the bulk of the goods are in. Then I'll camp out in the garage for a weekend putting stuff on. haha
How's your Mazda?
How's your Mazda?
It's good, I'm just bored because there is nowhere I can drive and have fun. I've been wanting to do an autocross but I've been hesitant for some reason. I think my dad wouldn't want me to do it.
And I really want to modify my car but I can't ffffff
And I really want to modify my car but I can't ffffff
Goddamn neighbors lit fireworks last night and one of them landed on my car leaving a dent and a scratch. I don't know if I should go up to them and ask them to repair it because there is no proof that they lit the firework but I know it was them.
call cops report vandalism. They ask around you use your insurance to fix it.
As far as modding, take this as a point were you can save up and decide whether you really "want" the part or was that part just an impulsive item that you liked. Then if you still want it after that and it isn't anything to major like a rear sway bar, strut tower bar, maybe an axle back put it on without saying anything.

That's how I got away with my ETC and Progress Anti-Roll Bar (painted bar flat black) so far. haha Neither which are noticeable unless you ARE looking for them or they're almost in your face.
Now getting your dad to let you autocross (or any sort of track day/timed event) can be a bit of an issue because autocross is generally the more, if not most safest, form of motorsport one can get in but you can still potentially damage the car. But for sure try to talk in into trying it out, its a worth while experience especially if you can get some seat time with an instructor. This can make you a safer (and faster
) driver on the street. On the flip side, it has 2 major drawbacks (mind you this is what I comprehended in my research a while back):
1) If the vehicle were to have a mechanical malfunction that came to affect during the event like engine overheating, boiling your brake fluid, warping rotors, etc. and it is know/obvious that the car was ran in a competion then any of those repairs wouldn't be under warranty. If this were to happen, don't say jack about running the car in autocross and hope like hell your car isn't on line in video or pics for a manufacture techs/engineers to see and void warranty on the repair. (I've seen that done at my dealer, not motorsport related though)
2) If the vehicle were to receive body damage, its unlikely that an insurance company would pay for repairs UNLESS stated otherwise in the policy or you had a licensed instructor in the car with you when the incident happened. From what I've been reading up on typical insurance policies, if the vehicle has been used in a timed event of any kind that is a competition in their eyes and if the vehicle gets into an incident afters and the company finds that it was in a timed event or actual competition then they likely won't pay for any damages. (Again, stay tight lipped about it if that were to happen).
On the flip side and like I said earlier, if you got in an incident during a instructional track day (I.E.: Not timed) with a licensed trainer/instructor then you'd more than likely would be covered because it was of course not a competition, just a instructional course much like driver's ed or defensive driving but with your car and a track/course.

I agree with krunk, report vandalism on it. I wouldn't call insurance on the scratch and dent though; find a place that can do paintless dent repair if it isn't too bad, get it pulled and have the scratch buffed out if possible. Save yourselves a few bucks that way by not having your rates go up.

And I have done paintless dent repair. It came out good but my girlfriend and sister said it was the biggest waste of $50 bucks. So idk I'll wait for my dad to ask and maybe when I start working in the summer I'll get it fixed on my own without letting anyone know.
I see. Well in the case of driving roads, I'd try to find a couple of motorcycle routes for your area on sites such as this (<-clicky) or on motorcycle forums.

People have gotten body damage at autocross events?
How is that possible? I'm not really too worried about damages really. I think once I start making my own money and start paying for my own things my dad will chill with that because I know that he is worried about paying unnecessary bills and trying to make his dollar stretch (like paying for tires or brakes that could have lasted longer).
I really don't feel like getting the cops involved. I am really pissed about it but everyone keeps saying that it's just a car and whatever. My dad said he'll ask them if they did and say that they should either stop or pay for the repair.

Well all the roads in my area are scenic -__-

. People hitting the plastic k-rails (with water inside) is a good example of one. I seen a Mustang enter in too hot for a decreasing radius and back into one (k-rail that is). During one of our local events a car understeered of course into a nearby ditch, barely missing a telephone poll. Not sure if that case was during a gymkhana or drifting event though.Other than that scuff marks from clipping cones, there isn't too much to worry about.

That's totally understandable Chawee. I hope it gets settled though none the less.
Yes, it is possible for cars to get body damage during autocross events but usually you have to be doing something STOOPID do so or nail a cone with a weak fiberglass lip

And I don't think I will have any problems with running stuff over. If when I do go autocrossing I don't plan on being the fastest guy there, just to have fun (and make fun of people slower than me
).
