If it bubbled up that means there was still moisture on the lense. Because I had the same probelm when I used water to make it easier to move the film around. But I got too anxious and turned on the foglights. Its best to wait a day or use a blow dryer to get all the moisture out before turning them on. I was lucky though because I had small bubbles and I used a very fine needle to pop them. Which made it much better.
