Gas mileage

Anybody get a chance to measure the mpg on a long, all highway, drive at somewhere in the 70-80 mph range?

first tank was 25.4 mpg. i live a mile from work in a town with 100 stop signs and lights. i can't wait 'til june when the bf and i move 30 minutes down the road...a long, winding road at that. am hoping the gas mileage kicks up into the 30s then.

I plan a long trip soon, possibly to either the black hills (in your backyard?) or Chicago. So I will try to remember to post gas mileage. Recently I had 34mpg and 38mpg. The first I believe was effected by very strong Head winds??

I did a 150 mile drive at about 38 mpg us gasoline

Not my back yard, but that is where I test drove the Fit as it is just about the closest Honda dealer (180 miles away). I am right in the middle of the state. MPG driving accross I90 from Minnesota is exactly the kind of drive I would be doing, as I often go to Sioux Falls or sometimes Minneapolis. I would very much appreciate any mpg numbers you can post - thanks.

Yes, winds are a huge problem around here - no trees to block them.

For the first 1600 miles I was lucky to get 30 mpg on mixed use drives of about 100 mi round trip. Last fill up showed that I was getting over 33 mpg. This is a combination of crowded highway and frequent traffic lights (slow/stop & go). I often push it to get to work on time and around slow moving road hogs in the left lane (must be Florida), so my Fit does some rapid accelerations on a daily basis.

Oo olympic pennisula run.. that could be fun too laugh.. but I'll wave from Whidbey well the north end.. if the ferry wasn't so high priced i'd go to edmonds ride the ferry across and drive up the island. gotta love those summer rates.. roll eyes..

With 17.6 Liters I made 264 km.
It's about 6.7L/100km. I drive 50% Highway and 50% city.

i get around 22mpg.. which is just over 9km/l in a 1.3IDSi CVT in complete stop and go traffic mostly bumper to bumper with A/c on... my km/l value on the trip computer shows generally 7.5 to 8.5 but im not sure how the car calculates this value as it changes accroding to driving conditions instantaniously... does everyone have this on there trip computers?? mines a FIT...

370 mile trip, combination city/hwy about 80/20 by miles, avg 37.5mpg on two fills (neither to empty).

I gotta say, those figures are pretty low :s.

They're almost as bad as a Civic Type R EP3 (roughly around 25-30mpg)

My friend has a 1.6 Civic Sport and it gets much higher MPG (roughly around 37-42), although that said, UK/US gallons are different I s'pose.

Another road trip 323 mile test: 3-old sk8 geezers, boards and gear maybe 550 lbs. Hwy. miles, avg. 70 mph...36.9 mpg. Plenty of space for all although the added weight and A/C running really taxes the power available.

First three tanks are now were 37.5, 38 and 37. The 37 was mostly 70 MPH with the cruise on.

I drive 142 miles back and forth to work a very long communte in colorado. i stop at the same station put the nozzle in the exact same amount same pump and everything and let it go until it stops. 43, 44.3 43.1 and 44.7 respectively so far. its mostly highway and im 43 and drive like it could be a big differance with the younger crowd I drive very easy and dont gas the crap at of it going up on ramps at redlights etc.

Those are the nubers I like to see. What speed do cruise at on the highway? I assume you run synthetic - judging by your sig. What tire pressure do you run?
